After going through a rough time at school, Jonah finds himself feeling weak until someone sticks up for him.
The bullying had been going on for several weeks. Jonah was not usually a target, but ever since he revealed he was bisexual, many people had changed their opinions of him.
It was one of those things where he wouldn't talk to anyone about what he was going though. He was scared of what they would say.
He was stood by his locker when he was pushed into the wall violently. It was one of the most painful things he had experienced.
Jonah: P-please TJ, I'm begging you. Stop this, it's too much.
TJ: Why would I stop Jonah? You need to be punished for what you did.
Jonah: No I don't, leave me alone.
TJ: Perhaps I'm not making things clear to you.
TJ grabbed Jonah by the shoulders, and punched him forcefully in the face. It was so powerful that it made Jonah's nose bleed.
TJ: Just you remember, that I will be making you regret your very existence.
Jonah: You'll never do that.
TJ: Who even cares? None of your friends ever stop me, it's almost as if you don't matter to them anymore.
If it wasn't the punch that hurt, then the words TJ was saying did. Jonah realised that one thing TJ had told the truth about, was the fact that his friends were never there.
TJ: You know---.
Cyrus: Back Away TJ!
Jonah's head shot up faster than it ever had before. He saw Cyrus run over and stand in front of him. Usually it was the other way around, but Jonah was glad this happened.
TJ: Or what?
Cyrus: I can be very forceful, and I'll make you, do you understand?
TJ: Am I supposed to be scared?
Cyrus: You seem to forget that there are two of us, and only one of you.
Jonah: Yes, so what was that you were saying about my friends not caring TJ?
TJ decided not to respond. He backed away slowly, whilst still giving the other boys an evil look. Cyrus looked down at Jonah, extending his hand to help his friend stand up.
Cyrus: TJ told you we don't care?
Jonah: Yes, and I believed it was true.
Cyrus: How long has he been doing this to you?
Jonah: Since I came out. It seemed so much easier for you when you came out, so why is it so difficult for me?
Cyrus: It's not fair, but it's also something that I do not know the answer to.
Jonah: It gets so hard Cyrus.
Cyrus: I know Jonah, but if you had told me or the girls what was going on, we would've stopped it.
Jonah: I was being silly, I was scared about looking weak and that made me feel ashamed.
Cyrus frowned slightly at Jonah's last comment, it wasn't nice to hear him put himself down. He pulled Jonah into a hug, and felt the other boy relax into his grip. Jonah was pleased for Cyrus' warmth when he felt so sad.
Cyrus: Listen, you don't need to be ashamed. I used to, but then I realised I had great friends and I should be proud.
Jonah: I have great friends too, and I have you more importantly, so we can get through this together, can't we?
Cyrus: Of course we can, now let's go to the spoon, my treat.
Jonah: Now you're talking!
Jonah felt relieved and very proud of the fact that he had a friend like Cyrus, as he realised that Cyrus would've gone through coming out alone. It felt as if TJ was now a rather small problem, as all of the pain faded away.
I hope you enjoyed it.
