What was supposed to be a five-minute nap turned into a three hour one. Taehyung stretched himself out on the sofa as he woke up, yawning and rubbing his eyes. He sat up, frowning a little when he found that his headache hadn't disappeared while he slept. He stood up and moved over to the kitchen, rummaging through a few shelves until he found some paracetamol, quickly popping a tablet into his mouth and swallowing it along with a mouthful of water from a glass standing on the kitchen counter.
As he put away his glass, his mind wandered to the strange young girl that had disturbed him earlier, and his eyes shifted towards the corridor. He stood still for a moment, debating on whether or not to go and check if she was still there or not, but then decided that it would just be a waste of time. Any person, no matter sane or crazy, wouldn't dare to stick around outside of his house when he threatened them with the police.
And so with that thought in mind, Taehyung pushed any thoughts of the strange girl out of his mind and retreated into his study.
His study was located on the first floor of his mansion, and it was a rather spacious room which was styled as a typical office. The walls were a dark shade of red, most of the furniture was either wooden or leather, and on his desk sat a large computer, on one side of which sat piles of paperwork from Kim Corporation while on the other side lay scripts for upcoming shows and films that Taehyung was going to be starring in.
Taehyung sank down into his seat behind his desk and logged into his computer, immediately opening up his emails and reading through them. He read those that were flagged as important first, most of which were from his subordinates at Kim Corporation, who were asking him questions about the company's latest project, although there were some others from the modelling agency he worked for, alerting him of changes in schedule.
Just as he finished typing up a reply to one of the emails and pressed the send button, his phone rang. With a sigh, he picked up his phone and briefly read the caller ID before picking up. "Yes?" He asked, his voice coming out smooth and controlled – it was the voice that he used when he was speaking to someone in a professional environment.
"Hello Taehyung," Came the sound of a female voice that he knew all too well. "Are you enjoying your day off?"
Taehyung sat back in his chair and raised his eyes to the ceiling as he hummed. "I suppose so," He answered vaguely. "Let's skip the chit-chat. What do you want?"
"Maybe I just want to listen to the deep and sexy voice of my boyfriend while I'm on break. Why? Is that wrong? Am I not allowed to call you now?"
Taehyung sighed. "That's not what I meant, and you know that. No matter at what time you call, I'll always pick up—I've told you this before, Jiwon."
"Then what's the problem?" Jiwon asked. She paused, waiting for a response, but when she didn't get it she spoke again. "Are you feeling alright? Last night ... "
Taehyung sat up straight in his seat. "You were with me last night? What happened?"
Jiwon was silent for a moment. When she spoke, Taehyung could tell by the tone of her voice that she was frowning. "You don't remember?"
"Unfortunately not," Taehyung answered with a small sigh. "I remember drinking a lot, and that's about it."
"I see," Jiwon said slowly. "Well, actually, I wasn't with you all day yesterday, so I'm not sure what happened exactly. When I met you, you had already begun drinking. I kept you company for a bit ... and when it was late, I sent you home."
Taehyung couldn't help but feel as though Jiwon wasn't telling him everything, but he knew better than to call her out on it. The last time that he had accused her of lying to him, the situation turned rather messy in a very short amount of time, and Taehyung wasn't about to deal with anything of the sort any time soon. So, instead of pushing her further, Taehyung simply hummed and said, "Thank you for filling me in."
