"No wait, say that again—who's in your house?"

Taehyung moved the phone away from himself for a moment as he let out a frustrated sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose, face scrunched up in irritation. He stayed like that for a second before placing the phone back against his ear and trying to control his tone of voice as he said, "I literally just explained everything, Jiwon. Weren't you listening to me? Do you ever—"

"Yes—over here!" Jiwon interrupted him, but her response wasn't directed at him. Her voice was distant and slightly muffled, indicating that she had put her phone down somewhere nearby her without putting it on loudspeaker. A muffled voice spoke to her from her end of the line and she gasped before replying to them, "It's ready? Wow, thank you Oppa! I'll be over in a second."

There was shuffling on the other end of the line which Taehyung listened to silently, his shoulders slumping and teeth chewing on his bottom lip as he waited for Jiwon to turn her attention back to him. He heard her hum and then giggle over something, his heart aching slightly from the knowledge that it wasn't him making her laugh like that but some other 'oppa'.

Jealousy swirled within him and he clenched his jaw as he tried to stop his anger from bubbling up and spilling out of him. He knew that even if he said something, nothing would change. Jiwon would always prioritize her work over him, and that's just how it was. There was nothing Taehyung could do, and so he tried to diffuse the unpleasant feelings within him as he waited for Jiwon to turn her attention back to him.

After another moment of shuffling, Taehyung heard her distant voice say, "Oh—the call's still on?" Some more shuffling was heard and then her voice clearly asked, "Taehyung, you still there?"

Taehyung sighed quietly and nodded although she couldn't see him – it was a habit of his. "Mmh," He hummed. "Of course I am."

"Ah I see. Sorry—I had some stuff to take care of," Jiwon responded, but her apology had no sincerity behind it. "I have to go to a dress rehearsal so I'm hanging up. Tell your parents or friends or whoever's staying with you that I said hi and I'll visit when I can."

"Wait, Jiwon—"

A flat beep came from Taehyung's phone in response, cutting him off short.

"Jiwon?" Taehyung called out before moving the phone away from his ear to look at his lock screen.

She won't reply, V's bored and factual voice rang through Taehyung's mind. She hung up on you. Again. As always.

A sudden yell burst through Taehyung's pursed lips and he stood up abruptly, flinging his phone across the room. It hit a vase, shattering it completely, and Taehyung breathed heavily as he watched the water, glass and flowers make a mess on his carpet, his phone lying in the middle of it all.

What are you getting so worked up about? V asked. It's the same thing as always, and yet for some reason you're choosing to finally be annoyed about it. How many times have I told you that you can wait for that b*tch until the end of time, but she won't spare you even a second of her full attention?

"Shut up, V!" Taehyung snarled, his hands going up to grasp his hair, his fingers threading through it and tugging at it out of frustration.

Tch, V clicked his tongue. Why? I'm the only one that listens to you—PROPERLY listens to you. That b*tch—

Taehyung frantically shook his head as he yelled, "Don't call her that!"

Is the one that you should be telling to shut up, V carried on, ignoring Taehyung's attempts to silence him. You crave her attention, and yet does she give it to you? No. I give you all the attention you could want, and yet you wish to kill me. Why? WHY?
