Standing in front of the mirror door of his closet, Taehyung scanned over his reflection. He was wearing a black suit with a matching tie, the white shirt crisp and newly ironed, a golden Rolex shinning on his wrist and his dark brown hair brushed so that it was neatly parted. His eyes flickered over his reflection, head tilted slightly to the side as he analysed his appearance.
A knock on his door pulled him out of his thoughts and he straightened out his suit jacket as he called, "Come in."
The door opened to reveal Samuel, dressed in a navy suit and grinning from ear to ear. "Morning, brother."
Taehyung nodded his head in acknowledgement, his eyes following Samuel's reflection as the younger male made his way over to stand by him.
"You're looking much better than you did yesterday," Samuel commented as he scanned Taehyung from head to toe.
"I'm aware," Taehyung replied as he turned his attention back to his reflection and fixed the sleeves of his jacket. "Shouldn't you be at Kim Co? Why are you still here?"
Samuel gave him a weird look as he said, "You were acting strange yesterday so I wanted to make sure that you were feeling alright before I went." He paused, observing Taehyung for a moment before asking, "Where is it you're going first? Do you need a lift?"
"I'm going to Mirage today—they have some new collection coming in and they want me to model it. It's in the opposite direction to where you're heading so there's no need to give me a lift," Taehyung answered while fixing his collar and tie.
"I'll call your chauffeur then—"
"No need," Taehyung cut in sharply, shaking his head. He turned away from the mirror to face Samuel who was looking at him in confusion and smiled. Reaching his hand into the pocket of his trousers, Taehyung pulled out his car keys and dangled them in front of Samuel's face. "I'll drive today."
Samuel's eyebrows shot up as he moved his face away to avoid getting hit in the face. "You—wait—you'll what? Drive? But—that's—you haven't driven in ages!" He attempted to snatch the car keys out of Taehyung's grasp, but the elder male moved them away from him too quickly. As he moved to try and catch the keys again, Samuel protested, "This is such a bad idea—it's been years since you've last been behind the wheel! Do you even remember how to drive?"
"Of course I remember how to drive," Taehyung snapped, hiding the keys in his pocket again and rolling his eyes. "It hasn't been that long ... and besides, have you ever heard of muscle memory? Even if I don't remember it properly, I don't need to since it'll be like a reflex. I'll figure it out, don't worry."
"Yeah, right, I'm sure that's how it works," Samuel muttered sarcastically, his eyes focused on the pocket of Taehyung's trousers in which the keys lay.
"Relax," Taehyung said, lightly nudging Sam's forearm with his fist, "I'll be fine. I'm Kim Taehyung, remember? There's nothing I can't do."
Although Samuel was still unconvinced, he huffed and shrugged, stepping away from the brown-haired male. "Whatever you say. Have you finished checking yourself out yet? Can we leave?"
"You brat," Taehyung uttered as he went to hit Samuel, just narrowly missing him as the younger male avoided his hand. "Who's checking himself out?" Taehyung demanded, going after him again, "Huh? Who?"
Laughing, Samuel dodged another one of Taehyung's attacks and quickly made his way out of the elder's room, rushing down the stairs with Taehyung hot on his heels.
"Stop running away from me you coward!" Taehyung shouted after Samuel's receding figure, the both of them hurrying to put their shoes on and grab their bags on their way out of the house as one chased the other.
