Taehyung pulled into the parking space outside of the gates of his house, killing the engine and then gesturing to the person who was sitting outside of the gates. "That's her," He said to Officer Wang who was sitting in the passenger seat. "I told you she would be here."

"Hmm," Officer Wang hummed as he squinted through the tinted dashboard at the figure of white who was seated outside of the gates, absentmindedly staring up at the sky.

Both Taehyung and Officer Wang exited the vehicle, and as soon as the white-haired girl laid her eyes on Taehyung she scrambled to her feet and smiled widely at him, waving energetically. "Welcome back, Tae!"

Officer Wang glanced at the young male at his side, noticing the slight clenching of Taehyung's jaw at the nickname and making a mental note of this. Vera quickly approached them and came to a stop in front of Taehyung, attracting the Officer's attention to her once more.

Taehyung struggled against the urge to rage at the young girl for calling him by a name that no one had the right to call him anymore. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of the officer, and so he tried his best to remain calm. "It's good that you are still here," He said stiffly.

"It is?" Vera asked him with a smile, her eyes glinting with happiness at his words.

Taehyung nodded in response. "Yes, it is. I have someone I want you to meet." He gestured to the elder male standing by him and said, "This is Officer Wang."

Vera turned to look at Officer Wang, and Taehyung watched her carefully, looking for any signs that she may be shocked or afraid in the presence of a police officer. However, he found none as Vera looked Officer Wang up and down once before giving him a polite smile and bowing her head to him respectfully. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Officer Wang," She said. "I am Vera."

"So I've heard," Officer Wang responded calmly, reaching out a hand to her with the intention of shaking hands. He was still inspecting the young girl closely, frowning over her unique looks and pondering the possibility of her relation to a person that he remembered encountering years ago in similar circumstances.

Vera blinked at his hand for a moment, looking unsure of what to do. The two males watched her expectantly as she struggled for a moment, wondering what was wrong with her, but then she uttered a small "oh!" and quickly took a hold of his hand, shaking it firmly as another bright smile crept up onto her face. "Forgive me," She said to the Officer. "Shaking hands is a human custom which I am not used to as of yet."

Officer Wang gave her a questioning look, but didn't say anything.

A moment of silence passed before Taehyung broke it. "Let's go inside," He suggested, brushing past the two and moving towards the gates. He unlocked them with a key attached to the keyring on which hung his car keys, pushing the gates open and then gesturing for Vera and Officer Wang to follow him which they quickly did, walking up the path and stopping on the porch. Taehyung unlocked the front door and welcomed his two guests inside before closing the door after them. "Please, make yourself at home," He said rather awkwardly, unsure of what exactly he was supposed to say since it was usually his brother that welcomed guests and not him.

Officer Wang and Vera followed Taehyung into the living room which served as a living room, dining room and kitchen all at once. Vera settled herself on the sofa standing on one side of the wall opposite of the TV, Officer Wang sat himself down in a nearby chair, his gaze focused on the white-haired female, and Taehyung went to the kitchen area to pour himself a glass of water.

Taehyung took a sip of his water before coughing and awkwardly asking, "Can I offer either of you a drink? Water? juice? Tea? Coffee?"

Both Officer Wang and Vera shook their heads and uttered a negative response. Taehyung hummed in response and drank his water, standing at the kitchen counter awkwardly as he observed his two guests. Contrary to the awkward and slightly panicked state he had expected Vera to be in at that moment in time, she was the complete opposite. She appeared to be absolutely unbothered by the presence of the police officer as she sat comfortably on the sofa and inspected the interior of his house, smiling lightly to herself. Officer Wang, however, appeared to be tensed for some reason – his brows were furrowed and a scowl rested on his face, his eyes curious and yet cautious as he watched the pale beauty sitting near him.
