ONE - TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY

“Hey guys, Alyssa Collins here.”

“And Aubrey Balassi.”

“And together we are Albrey Calassi.”

My best friend and I started a video the way we always did - the “Hey guys”, followed by our individual introductions and then the name of our channel, which combined our first and last names together. There was a time when we started our videos awkwardly, and we didn’t have a formal intro, but that had long passed. After two years of being on Youtube, we had grown more comfortable with being on the internet, and we had learned a lot. Now making videos was the easiest thing in the world to me.

Alyssa Collins, twenty-three years old. College graduate, with my degree in acting. Those are the most important things you need to know about me. Aubrey’s my best friend, of course. She’s the same age as me, and we went to college together, where we first decided to create a Youtube channel. Other than Aubrey, the most important people in my life have always been my parents and my big brother, David. Dad and David were my protectors. They would always defend me, and if anyone ever touched me or tried to hurt me, they would fight for me. My mom was more like a friend. The support was there, of course, but she was the one I talked to. She knew about drama with guys and my friend group, she took me out to do girly things, and she was the one I usually asked if I wanted to go somewhere - she was a bit more lenient and understanding than my dad. But when it came to family, David really was my rock. Other than the uncomfortable things that I would only talk to Aubrey about, he knew almost everything about me. I went to him for support when I didn’t want to tell my parents about something, and I always felt so safe around him. Sure, we fought growing up. All siblings do, but we still had an unbreakable bond. That, and we knew a lot of secrets about each other.

“As you know, it’s Transformation Tuesday, so today we have a compilation of clips from some of our older videos,” I announced.

“And, of course, newer clips to show how we’ve changed and transformed,” Aubrey added.

“It’s about to get really awkward up in here.”

“And embarrassing.”

“Yeah, you guys who have been subscribed for a while might not see anything weird or wrong with our old videos, but we laugh and/or cringe at ourselves when we watch them. So much has changed since then that it’s just weird for us to go through them and see all the things we used to say and do and how we conducted ourselves on camera. But, whether things have improved or not is something for you to decide, I guess!”

We inserted that video footage in before the compilation of clips that we already had edited on our movie-making software and then Aubrey and I were in front of the camera again for a reaction and outro.

“And there you have it. That is what two years of Youtube looks like,” I said.

“If you want to go back and watch the original videos that the clips are from, there are links in the description, in the same order that they’re shown in this video,” Aubrey explained.

“If you’re a cool kid, click the like button down below and make sure to subscribe if you aren’t already for more craziness from us,” I added.

“Later!” we said simultaneously before we stopped recording. Sometimes it was a strange feeling to cease recording and continue on with life. Honestly, we talked and acted the same on camera as we did normally, but while we were being recorded, everything seemed cooler. My life on Youtube actually seemed appealing and fun, when in reality it was just like everyone else’s life - extremely average.
