THREE - AWKWARD

ALYSSA’S POV

It was very early on a Monday morning, and I was so glad I had coffee before I arrived at Maker Studios. Of course, they had some for me there, but I needed to already be awake when I got there. I was relieved to see Alex when I arrived. There was something very comforting about knowing someone on set, even if that person wasn’t exactly the most calm or relaxed person in the world.

“I take it you’ve been through the script quite a few times by now?” Alex asked as I followed him around set.

“No, I haven’t even given it a glance,” I replied, sarcasm laced in my voice.

“Alright, there’s no need to be sassy, it’s only 9 am! I was just wondering if you’re ready for your on-set romance.”

“I guess so. I mean, I’ve done romantic scenes before in plays. It might be nice to know who my on-set boyfriend is, though,” I admitted.

“It’s Mark Fischbach. You know him, right? Markiplier?”

“Well, I haven’t met him, but of course I know who he is!” I couldn’t believe it. I had watched Mark’s videos for about two years. And yes, Aubrey and I started our channel about two years ago. Honestly, I was really inspired by him. I’ve never really been good at video games, but I felt like if he could do what he was doing and have success with it, I could too, hence my channel with Aubrey. He helped me through some difficult, stressful times as well, whether he knew it or not. He was also hilarious, and he had an awesome voice. I always hoped he would be able to have the voice-acting career he wanted. This might not have been voice-acting, but it was still acting, and I was going to be acting with him. How cool was that?!

“So I take it you’re excited to work with him?” Alex inquired, raising his eyebrows.

“Definitely. Is he here yet? I really want to meet him.” I wasn’t usually this bubbly in the mornings, but it wasn’t every day that I got to work with one of my idols.

“Yeah, but I think they sent him into hair and makeup already. You need to go there, too. You two will have to meet afterwards,” Alex said, urging me to go get ready. I reluctantly listened. My wavy locks got straightened and I was given a natural look as far as my makeup went. I was handed an outfit that consisted of jeans, a simple gray v-neck, and sneakers. Oddly enough, I could probably find the exact same outfit in my own closet. 

After hair and makeup, I went back out on set, where I saw Mark waiting for things to get started. They had put him in a white henley, jeans, and sneakers. He was cleanly shaven, and his hair was styled perfectly. That was my biggest inspiration, standing in front of me. I might as well introduce myself.

“Hey, it looks like we’re going to be working together today,” I said, walking towards him. “I’m Alyssa, by the way. Alyssa Collins,” I clarified.

“I know who you are,” he chuckled. “I watch your videos.” What? he watches MY videos? That was crazy. “I’m-“

“Mark Fischbach. I watch your videos too,” I confessed. 

“Really?” he seemed surprised, but I couldn’t imagine why. His channel was getting pretty successful.

“Yeah, I’ve been subscribed for a couple years, now,” I blushed a little. 

“That’s super cool,” he decided. “Well, I guess you’re my girlfriend, now. In the video, I mean.” 

“Yeah, it’s nice to finally meet the guy I’ve been dating,” I laughed. We were given a warning that we were going to start in a minute, and then Mark spoke again.
