FIVE - DANCING
ALYSSA’S POV
The Dare or Dare video was a huge success. A lot of fans were really happy that Aubrey and I had collaborated with Mark, and we gained some subscribers after Mark advertised the video on his channel as well. I was really glad that the reaction to it was so positive. I could only imagine the mixture of reactions Intruder (the short film) would cause. Mark’s fangirls would probably hate me after seeing it - hopefully some of them were at least mature enough to understand that it was only acting. But, no matter what people thought, it felt like a success to me and pretty much everyone who was a part of the project. The video was finally released about a week after Dare or Dare was released on the channel Aubrey and I shared. To celebrate the release of the video and the end of the project, almost everyone who was a part of it decided to hit up one of the newest clubs in LA and party.
“Are you sure you can’t come?” I was throwing random things in my clutch, getting ready to leave. I didn’t go clubbing often, and I wasn’t all that into dressing up. Because of that, I had settled for a black tank top with cut outs, along with white shorts, black booties, and jewelry, of course. My hair was down and straight, and most of my tattoos were showing for once.
“Yeah, I definitely don’t feel good enough to be going out yet,” Aubrey answered, clutching a box of tissues to her chest. She was sick, so she wasn’t going to be going out with me.
“Alright, well, take some medicine and try to go to sleep, if you can. And don't forget to drink lots of fluids!” I told her as I headed out the door.
“Alright, Mother,” she hollered after me, and I smirked as I closed the door behind me.
When I arrived at the club, I immediately found “my people” - people who were part of the production. I saw Alex first, and I ran up to him and gave him a hug. He was dressed in a much more laid back outfit than usual: a white v-neck, dark skinny jeans, and sneakers.
“Hey there hot stuff!” he greeted me, and I just chuckled at him.
“Hey, you look pretty great yourself! Better than me, actually, but what else is new?”
“Oh, stop!” he said, giving me a little shove. I looked around, trying to locate a very specific someone.
“Is Mark here yet?” I asked.
“Oh, I get it. You’re here to see him, not to hang out with me,” Alex replied, pretending to be really offended.
“Alex-“
“No, no, no, it’s alright. I’m too cool for you anyways!” he said, making me laugh a little. “But to answer your question, it looks like he’s just arrived.” I spun around and there he was. Dark hair, brown eyes, glasses, dressed in a casual gray button up, dark jeans, and sneakers. He looked really nice, actually. I turned back to Alex, who grinned at me. “Go ahead. I need to get my flirt on, anyways.”
“You’re going to look for relationship material at a club?” I inquired, raising my eyebrows.
“I never said I was looking for a relationship. Everyone needs a one night stand every once in a while,” he answered, winking at me. I watched as he located a guy he had deemed good enough to dance with and shook my head at him before realizing that Mark had made his way over to me.
“Hey, wow…you look…” Mark looked me up and down before the words finally came to him. “I didn’t realize you had so many tattoos.”
“Yeah, I have six,” I admitted. “You look…handsome.” I could have used another word, but it would have only made things awkward, so I settled for handsome.
