SIXTEEN - JEALOUS
Mark's POV
It was strange - I thought things would be different now that Alyssa and I had dropped the L bomb, but everything was pretty much the same. I guess it was because we had known how we felt about each other, we had just never said the three words before. Even so, it was nice to say them and to hear them from her. It felt good to be in a relationship, especially one that was going so smoothly. Every relationship has its complications, though. Both of us were busy. I had to help the guys of Cyndago move to LA, plus I had another convention to go to. Meanwhile, filming had started for the movie Alyssa had a role in, so she had that. We both had our Youtube channels on top of everything, and it was hard to see each other sometimes. We talked every day, but texting and even Skype didn't measure up to real one-on-one time together. But then again, we could have it much worse. We could be living in completely different states or even countries, unable to see each other except for maybe once every month. Now THAT would be hard. Our relationship was very manageable. We were lucky.
"When are you getting a haircut?" I grinned at Alyssa's question. My hair was getting long again - probably a little too long.
"Why, does it look bad?" I asked, pretending to be offended.
"No, it's just getting really long again. I think you look good no matter how you have your hair, but it wouldn't hurt to get it trimmed a bit," she replied.
"Well, to answer your question, I'm getting it cut in a few days. I need to in order to co-host the SXSW Gaming Awards." Yes, I was going to help host an awards ceremony. I had never done anything like that before, so I was both nervous and excited for it. I think Alyssa was more enthusiastic about it than me, though. She was so happy for me, and she couldn't wait to go. She hadn't had the chance to go to PAX East with me due to running lines for the movie. A couple fellow actresses offered to practice lines with her. Alyssa wasn't the only one who felt intimidated by a big movie set. Her new friends hadn't done anything that big either, even if they did only have small roles in this film. I was glad that she felt a little more comfortable with the whole thing after she got to know some of the people. Of course, not a whole lot of filming had happened yet. So far, she had only done scenes where she was in the background or she didn't have any lines.
"Yeah, that's true."
"Are you looking forward to filming again tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'll finally be speaking instead of just looking pretty!" Alyssa exclaimed.
"Well, you are really good at looking pretty. You should take all those scenes where you don't talk as compliments. You don't have to talk to be awesome - you're just that good!" Her cheeks began to turn pink.
"Alright, alright. It's going to be so weird, though. I have to pretend I'm dating someone other than you," she told me.
"That can't be all that weird. I mean, you had to pretend to be dating me when we weren't dating yet. Did you forget how we met?" I chuckled.
"No, I didn't forget! That was different, though. I felt comfortable acting with you. And I was single when I had to make out with you on screen! Now I'm not and it's not going to feel right."
"When you HAD to make out with me? My kissing skills are that bad, huh?" I was enjoying how flustered Alyssa was getting with all my obnoxious comments.
"God dammit, Mark. Yes, you're a terrible kisser. I hate kissing you, that's why I do it a hundred times a day!" She gave me a light shove.
"Yeah, sorry about that. But I mean, you're not going to be making out with anyone hardcore or anything this time. It won't be as intense. Right?" My face fell a little when she hesitated to respond.
