TWENTY-TWO - GOOD NEWS

Mark's POV

It rarely rained in Los Angeles. I was surprised to see a downpour outside my window when I decided to see what the weather was like. It had been sunny and beautiful just a few minutes earlier. I guess Alyssa and I wouldn't be going to the pool anytime soon...

Speaking of Alyssa, she arrived at my door a few minutes later, soaking wet. Her hair had begun to curl into its natural waves and I could see her bright colored bra through her v-neck.

"I take it you didn't have an umbrella with you?" I asked, trying not to laugh.

"Nope. It's in the apartment and it was still perfectly clear when I left, so I didn't think I'd need it," she explained, folding her arms across her chest. "Can I borrow some clothes?"

I let her inside and she headed straight for my closet. She grabbed a blue v-neck and a pair of pajama pants and began to change.

"It looks like you don't even need to borrow pants. My shirt looks like a dress on you," I decided.

"Yeah, but I'm going to wear pants anyways. I don't tend to walk around pantsless like you do," she answered, removing her bra with the shirt still on.

"Hey, as long as nobody's around, there's nothing wrong with that! And I could have helped with your bra, ya know."

"Too late! What do you want to watch on Netflix?"

"You mean you actually want to watch something?" She grabbed a pillow from my bed and smacked me with it before going back out to the living room. "Okay, okay! Sorry!"

"When I said Netflix and chill earlier today, I actually meant it. I'm on my shark week, so I don't exactly feel all that great," she explained, plopping down on the couch.

"Alright, I know exactly what you need," I decided. I went into the kitchen and dug into my candy stash, where I grabbed some chocolate. I also happened to have chocolate milk, so I poured her a glass. "I'm not sure if this is enough chocolate for you, but it's the best I can do for right now," I said.

"It's plenty. Thanks," she chuckled.

She shared some chocolate with me since I had literally given her all the chocolate I had, and we cuddled on the couch while watching Parks and Recreation. It definitely was a relaxing day, but Alyssa seemed to be happier spending it with me than she would have been moping around at her own apartment.

Soon after that, I was invited to go to New York for a Youtube event. I invited Alyssa, but her brother was already planning on coming to LA to spend a few days with her. So instead, I went by myself. I made sure to send Alyssa pictures and videos, because New York was a place that she had always wanted to visit. It was actually a really amazing trip, despite the fact that she wasn't there with me. I got to meet a ton of amazing Youtubers, and I even got to do some crazy slow motion videos with TomSka, the guy behind the ASDF movies. Not only that, but I felt extremely positive and motivated when I was there, more so than I ever had been before. It got to a point when Lys had fallen asleep texting me and I just had to vlog to get all my feelings out, even though the people in the hotel rooms around me were sleeping and I had to stay quiet. I was truly looking forward to creating more content and doing more livestreams and collaborating with people more. When I returned to LA, I got right back to work. Well, I got back to work AFTER spending some time with Alyssa and her brother David, who was still in LA.

I certainly didn't have any trouble staying busy, and it would be that way for a while. I soon found out that I'd be going to a convention in Indianapolis with Bob and Wade. Indiana is where Alyssa had lived for the majority of her life, so I was excited to tell her the news. There was no way she'd miss that event, especially since it would allow her to spend time with family.

"So, guess where my next convention is going to be?" I asked her while we were out to lunch.

"I have no idea. Where?"

"Indianapolis. It's called Indy PopCon, and Bob, Wade, and I are going to have a panel there and meet fans and whatnot," I revealed.

"That's awesome! David lives in Indy, so that's perfect," she exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. It's on my birthday weekend, too, so it should be a lot of fun. It starts on June 26th and it ends on the evening of June 28th."

"So I guess your birthday is already pretty booked, then," she realized.

"There's always that night. And anytime afterwards. I honestly would just be happy hanging out with you, Bob, and Wade in Indy after the convention ends. That, and since I'll be somewhat close, I'll probably visit my family in Cincinnati on the Monday or Tuesday after. That's really all I want to do for my birthday."

"Alright, well, we'll find a way to celebrate."

A few days later, Wade got talking to JackSepticEye (or Sean, as I now knew him) on Twitter, and he ended up basically convincing him to come to Indy PopCon. That was even more exciting news that gave Alyssa and I something to look forward to in June.

"I can't believe he's coming to Popcon! I can't wait to meet him!" Lys fangirled when she looked at the Twitter conversation and official statement on the convention's website.  She had been watching his videos a lot in the past few months, and she had been upset that she hadn't been able to meet him and Yami at PAX East.

"Hey, don't forget that he's mine. People ship us," I reminded her.

"Don't worry, I have no interest. I mean, his accent is cute and all, but he's taken and so am I. Although, it sounds like I might not be by the end of this convention!" she joked.

"Nah, I'm sure he'll share," I laughed. The sad thing was that despite the fact that Sean and I only joked about that kind of thing, there were people out there who actually wanted us to be a couple...but then again, I was practically immune to the fan art and fan fiction because of Yamimash. It almost didn't phase me anymore. But, all jokes aside, I was glad to be going to another convention with my amazing friends in the near future. The worst thing about moving to LA was the fact that it tore me away from my Cincinnati friends and family. But, at the same time, moving here allowed me to make new friends and even meet Alyssa, both of which were incredible, life-changing events.

Hey guys! I apologize that it took so long to update. Even though I've been out of school, I've still made myself pretty busy. This was more of a filler chapter than anything, but the next one should be longer and more interesting. Anyways, I have a question for you guys: Are any of you going to Indy PopCon? If so, I hope to see you there! I have my ticket and I have my fingers crossed that I'll be able to meet Mark, Jack, Bob, Wade, and Tyler. But, enough about that. I don't want to ramble about it, because trust me, I could! I hope you enjoyed the chapter. If you did, please vote for it and as always, I love to hear your comments. Thanks for reading :)
