Chapter 22

  "The enemy is getting large shipments of firearms and it seems like they are getting more," Danny said quietly in Chester's ear.

Chester said, "This is not good at all. Inform the government of this please".

"Yes sir," Danny said while bowing and exiting the room.

"Is there something wrong?" Charlotte asked while tilting her head to the side.

Chester looked at her with a smile and said, "It is only something small. Don't worry Charlotte. I have people solving the problem right now".

"Oh that is good then and I do believe that is check," she said moving a chess piece. Chester didn't feel worried about the game as they continued.

He finally said, "Checkmate. That was a good game. You have gotten better since last time. I am impressed".

"Thank you. I have been practicing so I can one day beat you," Charlotte said proudly and Chester laughed.

Chester looked at the time and said, "You should get home soon or your mother will get worried".

"Oh, I know. Mr. A should be coming to get me soon," Charlotte said while getting up and fixing her dress.

"Would you like me to wait with you outside with you?" Chester asked while he helped her fixed her ruffled dress.

"Yes, please. You can meet Mr. A!" she exclaimed which confused Chester.

"Who is that?" he asked while they walked outside and sat on the steps.

"He is our family servant, well more of my protector, but he is still amazing," Charlotte said happily.

Chester smiled and said, "I would love to meet him. I will take your word for how he is".

Charlotte smiled and said, "You two would become great friends like I am with him".

" I don't doubt it if you like them," Chester said admiring her positive attitude. They decided to watch the servants in the garden and Chester called out to one of them. The butler walked up to him and Chester asked, "Do you happen to know Mr. A? You should have seen him once while you walked Charlotte out".

"I have met him, sir. Did something happen?" the butler asked worriedly.

Chester smiled and said, "No. Everything is alright. I just wanted to know if anyone here knew him. Sorry that I worried you".

"That's alright sir. In fact, he is a close friend of mine. What would you like to know?" the butler asked.

Chester thought for a moment and asked, "Do you know how long he has worked as a servant Simon?".

"He has worked for Charlotte's family for longer than she has been alive. He did start at a younger age than most people, hence why he is only ten years older than her," Simon said while he looked down at Chester. A limo pulled up so Simon said, "Farewell Lady Charlotte".

"Goodbye Simon! Mr. A, I would like you to meet Chester" Charlotte said while greeting the male in black.

Mr. A walked up to Chester and said, "Nice to formally meet you, Earl Heath. I am who Lady Charlotte calls Mr, A".

"Nice to meet you. I thank you for coming to get Charlotte. She talks highly of you and I am honored to meet you," Chester said while holding out his hand.

Mr. A took it and said, "I don't deserve such praise from either of you. I am only doing my job" and bowed. Chester told him to stand up and they introduced themselves and what they are good at. Pretty soon, Mr. A looked at Charlotte and said, "We must go now. Your mother would like you home now".
