Chapter 24

  "You boys are not coming with me" Danny whispered to herself as Mark hung up the phone. She went to go find her bag which had her weapon and put it in a pocket on her dress.

When they got to Danny, Sebastian looked at Danny and asked, "Why are you still in that?".

"If I pretend to be a helpless maid, they will drop their guard enough for Liz to grab the earl. You guys are not coming with me since you need to stop the weapons from being used. Liz and I can handle ourselves. Stop acting overprotective mamma bears" Danny ordered.

"We just don't want to see you two get hurt," Sebastian said kind of upset.

"I know Sebastian, but we will be fine. You deal with the weapons and we will get the earl, or do you want to switch?" Liz said while smirking.

He narrowed his eyes and replied, "Not a chance".

"Good now run along so you can do your job and we can do ours," Liz said while smiling. Liz the shoved them out of the house and shut the door.

Danny looked at Liz and said, "You should change too so they won't get suspicious and kill him" and Liz went to put on the dress.

She giggled while twirling and said, "I feel like a princess".

"Dressed like a maid?" Danny asked while laughing.

Liz stopped spinning and said, "Let a girl dream".

"Sorry. You look like a very dangerous princess maid" Danny said with a smile.

"I am fine with that and thank you. Let's go get the earl back" Liz said with determination.

"I'll drive" Danny stated while walking to the door.

"In heels?" Liz asked while looking at Danny like she was insane.

"You and I both trained in heels just in case something would happen, so yes in heels" Danny stated with a straight face.

"I know we did, but still. That is uncomfortable" Liz said while following Danny out to the car.

They got into the car and then got a call from an unknown number so Danny put it on the speaker and the person who called said, "You are not with the males. Good".

"Where is the earl?" Danny asked while she started the car.

They laughed and said, "He is right here. Come to the abandoned building at the water and you can have them".

"What do you want?" Danny asked since she knew there was a catch.

"Him to pay for ruining my life. I won't kill him, but every ten minutes you take to get here, the young earl will get a new bruise on him and maybe a few broken bones" the person said happily.

"Why go through all this trouble? It seems pointless" Danny stated.

"It is the fact of knowing that the earl is in pain. That is enough for me not to kill him right away so tick tock girls" he said and he hung up.

"What is going to happen to the earl? That place is on the other side of town" Liz asked worried that they would not make it in time.

Danny drove through the streets and she said, "I don't like breaking the law, but hold on".

Liz looked confused but listened and Danny pressed the gas pedal all the way down and skillfully dodged people and traffic so Liz asked, "How do you guys know how to drive so well?".

"I would spend the time not spent training or learning at the arcade playing the racing games and winning them. You need to know how to avoid things. Now unless you want me to crash, please stay quiet" Danny said, shutting Liz up who thought, 'No wonder she is the head of the most powerful family. She is way too skilled not to be. Is everyone in her family skilled at something? I am just the girl who happened to become a leader. I have nothing special about me and I am not as skilled as Danny and the rest of them. Even my brother is good at fighting'. Danny continued to speed through the cars and the police were told what was going on, so they could get away with it.
