Chapter 6

  Matt stopped walking and pulled Mark back and asked, "What is this about? You are acting a little too protective".

Mark glared at him and asked, "Who is the female?".

"There is no female," Matt said shocked that he believed the lie.

"So male?" Mark said getting even more annoyed and advancing on Matt.

Matt asked while backing up, "What's wrong? Why are you getting mad?".

"Answer the question Mathew" Mark demanded when he was backed up on the wall.

"No, it's not. I lied to get her away" Matt said raising his voice a bit.

"How do I know you aren't lying?" Mark questioned while staring down at Matt.

"Why would I lie to you when I just gained your trust? I don't use people like that. Now answer me. Why does it matter?" Matt asked pushing Mark away from him enough for Matt not to be cornered anymore.

"If you were dating someone, then I would be forgotten again," Mark said quietly while backing up even more.

Matt was shocked so he said, "I would never forget about you. You are too interesting to forget".

"If I find out you are lying to me, I will hurt you in ways that you didn't know was real" Mark threatened.

"Noted. Now I need to get back to work and you need to start the journal thing they are forcing me to give you" Matt said while sighing and handing Mark the journal.

"Fine now get out of my room" Mark demanded while snatching the book.

Mark stared at the small book in front of him and thought, 'People don't need to know what goes on in my head. That's for me to know and no one else to find out. Like this is going to help at all. How's writing what the voices in my head tell me going to help me get better? It is stupid. This is the workers' way of trying to seem like they are doing something. They are all just posers hoping to get on the boss's good side. No one tries to understand and actually help the patients. Only Danny and Matt have done that. I shouldn't even be in here, I am not the one who belongs in here, the workers are the ones who need mental help. How dare they put me in the same group as those aggravating workers?(play now)  All humans are the same, disgusting and only caring about themselves.'

"You are a human too," the voice in his head said.

'No! I am not the same!' Mark argued.

"You are only using Matt as 'friend' so it seems like you are getting better. Who knows you better than me? I know who you really are Mark".

'No! NO! NO! Shut up! I would never use people as they did with me' Mark shouted in his head.

"How do you know that Matt isn't using you to get close to Danny again? By being nice to you, he gets Danny thinking that he is this amazing person that you like and can tolerate. You will eventually hurt Danny as you did with all your other friends" the voice questioned.

'NO! I would never hurt Danny! Just get out of my head!' Mark thought while clutching his head once again.

"No can do. I am here to stay and there's nothing to do about it. Just listen to me and you will feel much better" the voice said trying to persuade Mark to let go.

'I can't. Last time I did that, I got sent here' Mark thought while trying to zone out the annoying voice.

"You felt good then though, right? You taught all those workers a lesson, didn't you? Why not do it again?" the voice asked continuing to pry.
