A/N: thank you Shakespeare for Romantic Tragedies! Lol I got big plans for the next few chapters!

  (Four's POV)

I walk in late to theater and the teacher, who introduces herself as Mrs. Bates, has already started her lesson. Tris and all of her friends are already sitting at a desk. There is one empty chair, so I sit there in between Tris and Uriah.

"Alrighty, class, we are doing a famous Shakespeare play to start off with. We all know Romeo and Juliet right? Today we will choose characters and you will get your scripts. Homework is to practice; it is best if you get together with fellow classmates to practice your parts. So let's begin choosing. Girls, come and choose a piece of paper. On the paper will be the name of whoever you are playing."

Tris gets up with all the other girls and walks towards the table in the front of the class room. She blushes as soon as she opens her paper. Quickly they all come back to their seats. Now it is our turn. Uriah jumps up first and runs to the front. He picks the piece of paper that was closest to top.

"Mercutio? Isn't he, like, Romeos best friend?" Uriah goes back to his seat.

When I reach my hand in I take a deep breath before picking a small, white piece of paper.

Okay, so I am nervous. I hate acting, so I just hope I'll just be an extra or something simple -- maybe one or two lines to say and that's it.

I go back to my seat before I open it. The moment I do my jaw drops.

Oh no! No! I have Romeo!

Ugh, the main character. Oh, well, then it dawns on me...who is Juliet? I look around the room at all of the girls. None seem nervous or happy. Then who is it?

"I get to be the nurse! What did you get Tris?" Christina asks.

  What did Tris get?

"Uh..um.." She says something quietly, and I can't understand what she said.

"What?" I ask. I need to know.

"I got...Juliet." She says. Then I feel like I can do back flips. Yes! I know I shouldn't be this excited, but I can't help it!

"Hope you don't mind, Tris, but I got Romeo." I tell her and I think I saw her lips curve into a smile, but she quickly frowns again before I can be sure. Is she happy? Disappointed? Tris is so hard to read. "You should come over later and we can practice together."

"Uh sure." Her voice is quiet.

"For the rest of class look over your scripts, which I am handing out right now. These are yours, so make notes on them and if I were you I would highlight my lines. It makes it easier to know when your part is coming up. By next week I want you to have the first Act memorized. Oh, and don't worry, this is a revised script so it has the same plot line, just modernized and not as long." Mrs. Bates hands me a script. The rest of class we all talk about the play, but I zone out and thought about Tris. She always seems to be on my mind now.

"Alright! Remember homework tonight is to practice your lines. Dismissed!" Mrs. Bates calls out. Everyone gets up and leaves, going on to their next class. I lag behind, watching everyone else go. Tris and Christina are still packing up.

"Oh, I am so excited about this! Romeo and Juliet is my favorite play ever! So romantic and with a tragic ending. Just wish I could be Juliet." Christina goes on and on about how amazing this play is going to be.

Tris nods, but never speaks. I stand to leave as they start to leave.

I have English next with Zeke. During that class we throw crumpled pieces of paper into a trash can while the teacher sits and reads from a textbook.

It was boring and so was my next class, French.

Finally the day ends and I can go home! I don't see Tris on the way out, so I can't offer her a ride. I jump into my Ferrari, Annabelle, and drive home.

I take the long way around looking at the beautiful forest that covers half of our little town. There is a small park I pass that is full of trees, swings, a slide, and monkey bars. A few kids are running around. It makes me smile and remember when I was young. My father would let me play at the park by our house. Now that I think about it, Tris would sometimes come with me. Tris!

About a block ahead of me a short blonde girl is walking. Her lime green sweater gives her away. Tris does look beautiful. I sigh at the sight of her. I rev the engine and pull up slowly behind her. Tris slows down and turns around.

"Hey! Thought you might want a ride." I say.

She laughs and smiles at me, "To-- Four! I thought I was going to be kidnapped or something. Didn't anyone tell you not to sneak up on people?" She laughs again.

"No one says that anyways. Do you want a ride or not?"

She agrees and gets into the passenger side seat.

"So why are you walking this way? It's faster and easier to go straight down Maple Drive." I ask as she closes the door.

"The longer it takes to get home the better." She sighs.

I understand what she means.

"Hey, Tris, you can use my real name when it's just you and me. It's good to hear it again. Well, if you want you can stay at my house. We need to practice that Romeo and Juliet play anyways." I offer.

"Sure, that would be great." Tris, for the rest of the ride, sits in silence and looks out the window. When we get to my house I park in the garage. Tris gets out and we walk outside. She looks over at her house and I can faintly hear someone yelling. I dismiss all the painful thoughts that come into my head.

I show Tris to my room where she puts her backpack on the floor. "Umm, do you have a highlighter?"

"Yeah. Green, blue, or yellow?"

"Green. Thanks. So the first line is yours. I think it's like a street fight or something like that. I know that the two families hate each other." She says as she takes the highlighter from my hand.
