Chapter 22: The Dream

Ashley was floating through empty space, she felt completely weightless. She felt as if one of those blurry plastic sheet had been put over her eyes. She couldn't see anything in the dark space, but it was warm and comforting. After awhile, she saw a light that seemed to beckon her. She heard many kind and friendly voices call her name, telling her it was time to join them and be their new friend. She smiled and reached out to the light, and right as she was about to enter the light, she heard crying behind her.

"Hello?" She called out and turned around. She didn't see anyone and turned back around with a smile, ready to be with her new friends in the warm and cozy light. The crying sounded again and when she turned, she saw another familiar figure. It was Agni.

"AGNI!!!" Ashley cried gleefully and floated to him, letting the friendly voices fade, but not disappear. She was going to hug him, but he seemed to not see her. Where Ashley was floating, he seemed to be standing on some invisible floor, and up close, he looked translucent. His head was down and his hands also rested on some invisible force.

"Ashley...come back. Come be our new friend.... you'll never have to be alone." Ashley ignored the voices.

"Agni..." He was crying. She hated seeing him so sad, but why didn't he see her.

"Please come back, Ashley." He murmured. She almost didn't hear him over the voices. She put a hand in his cheek and he flinched a little. His head flung around to see who had touched him, but Agni didn't see anyone.

"I'm right here, Agni." Ashley leaned closer. The voices were really loud now. The were begging, pleading that she go with them and leave forever, but Ashley didn't listen. She put her forehead against Agni's even though he probably couldn't feel it. "I'm right here." Ashley leaned closer and gently placed her lips against his. Agni felt this and froze, looking at the space Ashley was in. He still didn't see her, but he knew she was there.

"Ashley." He whispered with a smile. Ashley smiled to, almost not noticing that she was being tugged downward, into whatever Agni was standing over.

Ashley's eyes fluttered open. Agni saw her and starts crying tears of joy as his words came out in stammers. Ashley Kuu silenced him with another kiss. This time Agni wrapped his arms around her. It was the most perfect moment of there lives.........
