"Medusa was..."

A. Hero.

That was what Medusa was, a hero who fought for her and her children's safety. She was raped by Poseidon. In Athena's temple. Athena's curse was not a curse, but a blessing in disguise. A priest of the war goddess raped by a god in her deity's arena. How bad is that? And society decides to blame her, for "provoking" Poseidon. Athena may have been angered, but she unknowingly gave Medusa a was to protect herself, because she was known for her beauty, and if anybody came to Medusa and stayed long enough to look at her, they would've had something else in mind. That poor lady got pregnant, while she was wearing traditional clothes (Never tell any ethnic girl, Indian, Greek, Roman, Thai, Vietnamese, Native American, African, that traditional clothes can prevent rape, that is the worst thing you can tell her) and though she may never find anymore love, at least what is left of her dignity is protected, right?. And this amazing dude, hailed as a "hero" for killing a pregnant and traumatized rape victim, Perseus (the original one), cuts her head off to protect his own kind. Guess what's next? Athena lends him a hand in the murder as well.

Doesn't this sound very familiar? Ever heard of "rape and murder" cases by victim-known perpetrators? The misogynistic- sorry, I meant to say, "patriarchal" society, has brainwashed us under the pretext of protecting us.

A message to everybody who thinks differently, please. You may think we need your help, and its true, so listen to me. Just shut up and don't do anything to us, or "for" us. We appreciate genuine help, but we can sniff out the bad aura (we deal with two-facedness on a daily basis with some of our own species, we know if something is genuine or not) and walk out of your lives just as easily as you tried to slip into us. It's not hard doing nothing, of that sort. Look at me, I'm doing it right now! I'm staying away from raping people! It is very easy. Just try it once.
