Nothing hurts worse when you think someone you love would react adversely, but in reality, they are just so supportive of what you want that it brings immediate tears to your eyes.
It is a million times worse when it is your parents. Talk to them more, because no matter how strained your relationship is, they will be the only ones who will support you, even until their last breath, unless you are not their own. After all, they can't just let the beautiful thing they created suffer, can they?
