Chapter 4 - When Morning comes

I slowly opened my eyes. They felt really sore.
It even sorta hurt. I let out a loud groan while turning to my side, facing my alarm clock ontop of my wardrobe. The time was 2:10pm.

I over slept...

I sat up scratching my mess of a hair. I stretched my body, but stopped when I felt a cramp on my leg.
I tried to reach for my phone but didn't feel it.
I looked around for it, then I remembered about last night. With a sigh I got up and walked to where I threw it, and when i spotted it i picked it off the floor. The phone was cracked, but I didn't care. It was just the screen protector after all.

When I turned it on, three missed calls popped up. They were from Pearl, "shit..." I forgot that she wanted to talk to me. I was just about to call her back when suddenly my phone rang. It was Amethyst. I answered, "yo, what's up?"

"Aye Peridot, I need a favor. It's about the party."

"Aight, what's the favor?"

"Well, the person who's throwing the party needs help to set things up. She has lots of things that she needs to do, and she isn't sure if she'll be able to do it on time."

"Uh huh, so...I should do what?"

"If you can come, then we should help. It's not only going to be us. Jasper, Garnet and some others will be there to help too. So are you in?"

I thought about it. Do I have anything to do?.....I guess not.

"Alright fuck it, I'll be there. What time?"

"At 3pm."

"Ok, you need a ride there?"

"If it isn't much of a bother. Then yes."

"I'll pull up then. See you later bye."

I hanged the phone and walked to my bathroom. I looked at myself for a bit. "Ugh...I really look like this?" I said to myself.
I began to wet my hair and fix it into shape. When I was done, i walked to my closet to change, grabbing a white shirt, and some dark blue Jeans. I grabbed my glasses, watch, wallet, phone, and walked down stairs. Making my way to the kitchen, i grabbed a bowl and poured cereal.

I grabbed the milk from the fridge and poured it inside the bowl. It was late to eat cereal but I didn't give a fuck.

I sat down on the couch in the living room. I turned on the tv and ate.

The weather channel was the first thing that popped up. Today's weather was going to be cold, even a possibilty of snow. I groaned as I heard the weather lady say it.
It wasn't possible to race when there was snow. I learned that the hard way. I almost crashed last year because I tried to race during snow days.

I can't lie though. It was really fun.

As I was eating my cereal, my phone rang again. I reached for it, picking it up from the couch inches away from me.

This time Pearl being the one calling, I answered with a mouth full of cereal, "mmm, yesh?"

"Peridot, hey. I called earlier today. You didn't pick up though."

I quickly swallowed the cereal, which was a mistake when I felt the cereal scratch my throat. "S-Sorry, I over slept. I didn't hear my phone ring" I said with teary eyes.

"Oh, ok. I just wanted to know if you had any plans for today?"

"Yea I actually do. Amethyst called and told me if I could help setting up the party for tomorrow."

"You're going too huh. Jasper and Garnet are also going. They told me if I wanted to go but I didn't want to. I was hoping to go out with you, go eat somewhere. But I guess that's not going to happen."
