Chapter 28 - Aftermath

Lapis's Pov

I haven't been going to classes much. I either make an excuse to not go, or I skip.

This isn't how I expected my first days in a new school.

Everything was going horribly wrong. What I thought was going to be exciting turned out to be the complete opposite.

I felt completely horrible.

I layed my head on the lunch table. I really didn't want to be here.

"Hey L" I heard Amethyst say, taking a seat next to me.

I lifted my head a bit. Just enough so I could see her.

Along came Garnet and Jasper. They took a seat as well.

"You seem a bit down" Jasper said.

Garnet slightly bumped Jasper with her elbow.

I didn't feel like talking either.

"You okay Lapis?" Garnet questioned.

I gave her a thumbs up so that I didn't have to say a word.
They just looked at me not saying anything else.

It felt awkward yea...but there's no way in hell I'll break our silence.
I didn't want to.

However, thankfully Amethyst did it for me.

"Aw c'mon Lapis...cheer up a bit. You can't stay like this forever."

I found it funny. Amethyst was literally the one insisting to check on Peridot every second that went by.
Now she's all calm.

God what the fuck has gotten into me. I haven't eaten much, I haven't talked to my parents much, and now this!?

I sighed bringing my hand to my face. "I'm...sorry. it's just I haven't been..exactly me lately."

"No worries. We haven't been us either" Garnet told me.

Jasper and Amethyst nodded at Garnets response.

I guess we're all out of the ordinary.

"And to be honest. This place is the last place I want to be in. I can't concentrate in any of my classes" I said crossing my arms.

"Tell me about it sista" Amethyst sighed.

We all fell into silence again.
At least we cleared out something right?

I looked at Garnet as she stood up, reaching into her pocket.
"There's only one place I like to be when I'm all worked up. C'mon, let's go."

"Go where? Lunch is about to end" Amethyst said.

"Usually I wouldn't do this, but it sure looks like we all need it. Let's go and hangout somewhere."

I looked at how Jasper's boring face turn into a bright smile.
Same with Amethyst who already walked beside Garnet.

"And you Lapis?" Garnet asked.

Ditching school? Psh fuck yea.

I nodded as I stood up walking behind them.

"Uh where's Pearl?" I asked them.

Amethyst shrugged. "She couldn't come to school because she had something to do."

"Yea. She told me to lend her my notes later. Hmph...she doesn't lend me hers when I need them" Jasper rolled her eyes.

The four of us walked out of compass. Garnet parked her car near a neighborhood.
It's smart since you have to pay for parking at the school.
