Chapter 32 - An Understanding

Lapis's Pov

I Kept poking my food that was set infront of me.
I didn't really feel hungry at the moment.
Both my parents took turns looking at me.
They thought i wouldn't notice.

My dad cleared his throat as to get my attention.

I limply faced him.

"Hey Lapis...you doing alright? You haven't eaten your food."

"Are you sad because we're moving?" My mom added.

I gave them a shrug. "I guess..."

"Aw sweetie," my mom gently squeezed my left shoulder. "I know the way you feel. I also feel sad because we're moving."

"Yea. So many memories."

I nodded as agreeing with them, "yea...I bet you're feeling the same..."

They cleaned up the table. I helped them, and when I was done, I also helped packing a few stuff into our car.

Apparently where we're moving to is almost a two day drive.
So might as well put stuff that I'm going to use in our car.
I took the time to also pack Pumpkin's food bowl and water bowl.
She's obviously going to travel with us.

I haven't done much all day but lift a few things.
But that was enough to get me all tired up. Maybe because I haven't eaten well lately.
Yesterday didn't eat anything. I lied to my parents that I did though.
Why?...I don't actually know.

I sighed as I walked back into the house.
I made my way upstairs to make sure that I wasn't forgetting any boxes. I walked back into my room for one last time.

The more time I spent here I slowly grew more tired. I didn't want to spend another hour here. I just felt like I wanted to get out of here.

I know it wasn't right of me. But this place just brought sad memories now.

I didn't even say goodbye to my friends properly.
And I don't think I have the chance to anymore.

God damn it...

I'm going to be all alone now. No one to hang around with...

I'm going to be called the lonely sad Lapis in my new school...

"Hey Lapis. One of your friends is here. I think she wanted to say goodbye" my mom said.

I turned to her, "who..?"

"I don't know. She's driving a jeep."

Garnet then. It's probably her and Amethyst. Garnets the only one with a jeep.

"I'll be down in a sec."

My mom nodded and left.

Bringing my hands to my face I took a deep breath.

What am I suppose to say...?

'Bye Garnet I'll never see you again!'

....

It didn't matter anymore.

I watched my every step as I walked downstairs.

Pumpkin tried to run out, but I stopped her in time.

Bark bark!

"Stop Pumpkin. What's gotten into you?"

I tried calming her down, but she simply kept trying to run out.

"Stay here. I'll be back okay?" I pat her head.

It seemed to work for a brief second. It was enough time to let me out of the house though.
She kept barking From the other side of the door.
