Bonus Chapter ¹⁹ - Game session

Lapis's Pov

"Grr stupid teammate!" Peridot shouted in her mic.

I just watched her, laughing every time she lost or shouted in anger.

"Defuse the bomb you dumbass!!" She shouted again.

I chuckled.

Soon her match ended, making her even more pissed.

"God why do I get shitty teammates.." she said getting up from her chair.

"Ya done?" I asked.

She sighed, "no. I'm just going to get water.."

"Aww but I want your attention!"

Peridot smiled, "after I'm done gaming then."

She left to get water. I groaned.
I looked over at her game, then I got an idea.

Not long after she came back. She sat down on her chair, and began to play again.
I walked over to her and sat down on the ground next to her.

She gave me a confuse look. I smiled in return, and looked at her game.
She shrugged it off and played.
Like before, I laughed
When she shouted.

"You're so damn trash!" She said over the mic.

It when on like that for a few minutes. I moved a bit closer to her. Not enough for her to get distracted, but close enough.

She was still concentrated, her eyes glued to the screen.

"Let me play.."

Peridot looked over at me, "you want to?"

I nodded.
She shrugged and handed me the controller.

Honestly, I had no idea what I was suppose to do...

"Ok, main target is to defuse the bomb. Don't get killed, because you won't spawn back."

I tried to listen to what she said. I slightly made the character move, but got killed right away.

"....that wasn't...ok then. You'll get them next round for sure!" Peridot said.

I tried again, again, and again. But just kept dying.
Despite me sucking at the game, I actually still had fun.

"This is actually pretty fun!" I said smiling.

Peridot frowned, "well...my teammates think the opposite" she tapped her mic.

A new round began, this time I was determined to win.

"Alright...sprint by holding down on the left joystick."

I nodded, doing exactly that.

"When you see a light flash, that means someone is trying to snipe. Take cover quickly."

"Y-Yea.." I kept my attention towards the game. I felt my hands get a bit sweaty.

"Hear those footsteps? That's the enemy. Quickly to your left!"

I panicked, quickly looking to the left. The enemy tried killing me, but somehow I managed to kill them instead.

"Hey I killed someone!"

Peridot chuckled, "well that's not all of them. Don't get distracted."

I nodded, paying attention again.

I still didn't know how to play properly, but with Peridot coaching me I felt like I could win.

"Press R1 to throw a grenade over that wall."

I did, and got another kill.

"There ya go! Two kills!" Peridot said.

"Did we win?"

She shook her head, "not yet, you have to kill all of them. Or defuse the bomb."

I had no idea how to do that, and obviously I got lucky by getting two kills.

"...ah..Laz."

"Yea?"

"Your teammates are sorta dead. It's a 1v1 game now."

I felt my heart beat fast, "oh god, what do I do?!"

"Ok, stay calm and run towards the bomb. Chances are that he's camping there. Be careful and check your surroundings."

I tried to calm down. However, my hands shaked.

"N-Now what?"

"Damn...the fucker probably has dead silence."

"What's that?"

Suddenly my character got shot. He didn't die though.

"Quickly press the circle button!"

I did, resulting in my character to crouch behind a wall.

"He's going to kill me!" I shouted.

"No he's not! Slightly move to the right!"

I did, slowly and carefully.
Then I heard shots fire.

"Ha, now stand up and shoot him!"

I did. I missed a few bullets, but luckily I landed a few on him killing him instantly.

"You won!" Peridot smiled.

"I did?.."

Peri nodded, "you won your first game."

I sighed, "well, all thanks to my gamer girlfriend."

The game ended, taking me to the main menu.

"Ooh! Can I play again? I think I get this game now!"

Peridot pat my head, "sure, but not on my account. You're going to drop my KD to negative zero."

I didn't know what that meant, but I was ok with it I suppose.

"Can we play the two of us?"

"Yea, but split screen kinda sucks."

"Not as much as my skills I bet."

Peridot laughed, "haha, yea you're right. Now hurry up, the match is about to start."
