Chapter 17 - Down By The Beach

I lazily opened my eyes. It was dark. Soon I realized me and Peridot fell asleep on the couch, watching Netflix.

The bright words on the screen 'are you still watching?' It said.

I checked my phone. 1:21am.

I carefully got off Peridot. Luckily she's a heavy sleeper, so it wasn't a problem. I walked to the kitchen, filled a cup with apple juice. I woke up feeling thirsty for some unknown reason.
I walked back to the living room, looking at my phone. I got a message from my dad.
I probably didn't noticed because I was sleeping.

I quickly looked at the message.

Dad: hey sweetie. The storm hasn't stopped yet, so your mom and I will stay a bit longer. Please call if anything happens. We love you❤

Obviously they're sleeping, so I'm not going to bother texting back.

I walked over to the nearest window. My feet touching the cold floor. I was taken aback when seeing the outside world.
The streets were covered in snow. It wasn't a lot, but enough to make a snow man.

I looked in awe. I couldn't help but think of memories in the past. I personally like the snow. It reminds me of pleasant times. But also...hurtful ones.

I can't believe I bumped into her. I thought she was moving out of the city. I also wonder....did she notice me?

Did she see me at all?

Did she see us?

I looked over at Peridot. She was still sleeping calmly.
I smiled at the view. She looks like a grumpy slice of pie that is sleeping.

I sighed. Maybe I'm overthinking.

I walked back to Peridot, wrapping myself with the blanket. I gently kissed Peridot on the cheek, and layed back cuddling her.

Peridot's Pov

"What do you mean you can't come!"

Amethyst shouted through the phone.

"Amy I'm sorry. I'll make up to you" I said rubbing my neck. I winced when I felt the pain. "You know how I feel when...this happens."

I looked out the window. The roads covered in snow.

"Awwwwww c'mon man! I'm boooored.."

I sighed, "well what can I do?"

There was a long pause. Then Amethyst gasped. "I know! What if you just walk instead, ah?"

"....."

"Peri?"

"Amy I love you and all...but I'm not going to freeze my ass just to hangout with you."

"Aw c'mon! Just this once."

I sighed loudly. "I hate you...."
Amethyst just squealed in happiness.
"I'll be there..."

I hanged the phone, putting it in my pocket.

"So. What are we doing?" Lapis said, sitting up on the couch.

"Looks like we're walking. To Amethyst house..."

Lapis smiled, "really?! That sounds like fun!" She got up walking over to me.
