THIS IS WAR | INFINITY WAR
Chapter Two
⚡️

NEW YORK CITY

"SERIOUSLY? YOU DON'T HAVE ANY money?" Stephen Strange exclaimed in disbelief, glancing over his shoulder to his coworker, an eyebrow quirked up questioningly.

Off the side of the stairs, Elizabeth peered up from her journal, chuckling lightly as she watched the two communicate. Gideon immediately paused as the teenager's attention shifted, the AI's face appearing on the shinny clean screen as it waited patiently for instructions.

"Attachment to the material is detachment from the spiritual," Wong answered as he followed Stephen down the staircase, the drastic differences in their outfits being noticed as one was solely loyal to the mystic arts whereas the other was a lot more lenient.

"I'll tell the guys at the deli, maybe they'll make you a metaphysical ham on rye," Stephen exaggerated, tucking his hands in his pockets. He looked over to the speedster giving her a pleading look. "You gotta help me out here, Elizabeth."

"Hey, that still doesn't make sense to me anyways," the speedster spoke up as she stood, instinctively pulling her sweater sleeve down to hide Gideon. A sarcastic smirk was over her face as she crossed her arms, joining them at the bottom of the tall stairs. "I'd offer my experiences with other sorcerers and magic users to benefit your point, but this gets funnier and funnier each time it happens." A sniffled laugh surfaced as Stephen frowned with a disappointed glare directed to her.

"Oh, wait, wait, wait!" Wong urged, digging through his pockets. Stephen turned back expectingly, Elizabeth raising an eyebrow at Wong. "I think I have 200."

"Dollars?" Stephen questioned, looking exhausted from their conversation about money. Something he wasn't ever going to get use to.

"Rupees."

"Which is?"

"Uh... Buck and a half," Wong's unsure tone made Elizabeth laugh again.

"It's actually two dollars, sir," Gideon spoke up, the voice slightly muffled due to Elizabeth's long sleeve. The AI only succeeded in making Elizabeth laugh harder, the teenaget bending over and clutching her stomach. Stephen and Wong both shot the teenager a look, which she quickly noticed when she looked up. Elizabeth's smile never faltered. "I'm sorry, this is just... This is just really funny. You're like an old married couple."

Stephen sighed loudly, the sound merging with a groan as his shoulders slouched.

"Hey! Archer would agree with me," Elizabeth said in defence of herself giving a small shrug.

"Thank god he's had other things to tend to," Stephen huffed. "If he was here, the mocking and teasing would be a hundred times worse."

Elizabeth snickered to herself, wishing she had her partner in crime next to her to high five. But Archer had other business to attend to, mainly lessons he had fallen behind in because him and Elizabeth never did any of the work and instead messed around in New York City. In the past year, they pair of friends had caused more mischief in the city then the Avengers ever did. But they always cleaned up the messes before they could be identified! So technically, it wasn't like they were harming the city or its citizens.
