"What do you think about this one?" Y/N asked their boyfriend, Romano, holding up a rather ugly Christmas sweater. He frowned and turned his cheek.
"Hell no! Can't I just wear something plain?" he said.
"Romano," Y/N whined, "It's Christmas! This is a really festive party! Everyone will be dressed like this - so if you aren't, then you'll be the outcast!"
"It looks stupid," he grumbled.
Romano could be a very loving and romantic boyfriend, but sometimes, when he was forced to do things he didn't like or embarrassed him, he acted like this. Y/N didn't mind it too much, in fact, they thought it was kind of cute. However, it could get annoying when it was just little things.
Y/N sighed and went back through the rack of sweaters to (hopefully) find one that suited his demands.
What 'festive' event was this, you may ask? The annual Christmas party of their friend group, of course! It was usually held by America, but occasionally a person was nominated to host the party instead. This year it was Romano and Y/N's best friend, Spain.
Everyone always dressed festive and Christmas-y for the party, even the more 'easily flustered' people, Romano being one of them. It was always a struggle to get him to wear appropriately themed clothing for this party, but this year seemed to be worse than the previous ones.
Y/N soon pulled out another Christmas sweater they thought he might approve of, but he again shook his head.
"No!"
"Why not?" Y/N said, "It's just a sweater... please? You usually give in by this point and agree to dress festive! I don't understand!"
Romano blushed and rolled his eyes, "I just don't want to. Is that reason enough?"
Y/N sighed, and, giving up, walked out of the clothing store with Romano. The two walked in the cold to the back of the parking lot and got in the car. Y/N looked noticeably down the whole ride home.
When they pulled in to the driveway and parked, Romano turned to them, "Does it really matter that much to you?"
"It's Spain's party this year," Y/N said, "he wants to go all out, and I wanted to support him. I thought you would, too. Besides, even if it looks a bit silly, who doesn't love Christmas cheer?"
Romano rolled his eyes again.
"Oh, I'm sorry, you don't, apparently! Mr. Grinch." Y/N said, getting out of the car and going inside. Romano followed suit.
About two hours later, Y/N sat alone in the living room watching TV. Romano came into the room wearing a decked-out Christmas sweater, complete with flashing lights. He sat down and acted as if nothing was different.
Y/N looked at him, wide-eyed.
"What? Got a problem?"

December 11th. Sorry the last one was a bit weak. I've had a lot going on in my life and I had to write it super late. Hopefully this one makes up for it.
