Some of Y/N's earliest memories involve eating candies on Christmas. In fact, they may even enjoy eating Christmas candies more than opening presents. And, ever since they became an adult, their parents put them in charge of getting the candies.

One of the reasons that Y/N always thought of the candies so fondly was that they came from a local candy store that made most of their candies by hand. Of course, Y/N had very fond memories of this candy store as well.

So, this was why Y/N was so happy to be buying Christmas candies today. They walked into the store smiling, their eyes immediately darting around looking at everything. They were so preoccupied that they almost forgot to say hello to the little old man that ran the store.

His name was Mr. Fontana, a nice man that spoke in an Italian accent since he had immigrated from Italy in the 1960's. He got along well with Y/N's family, and they even somewhat considered each other friends.

However, when Y/N turned their head to the front counter, Mr. Fontana was not the one there. There was another employee instead, a man with olive skin and dark brown hair. He was pretty attractive.

Y/N shrugged it off and picked out the Christmas candies they wanted to buy. They went up to the counter and purchased them. But, before they left, they asked the man a question.

"Hey, um, is Mr. Fontana here?"

The man shook his head, "I'm surprised you didn't hear - he died a few weeks ago."

He had a weird accent, but that's not what Y/N was thinking about. Their eyes widened in shock and felt the urge to cry. Mr. Fontana was a beloved figure in their childhood.

"O-oh... so who runs the store now?"

"I do," the man answered, "he didn't have any relatives he wanted to leave it to, so he left it to me."

Y/N looked around the store again with their eyes, "Well, you seem to be doing a pretty good job of running it."

"Yes, well, I wanted to try and keep the spirit he always had," the man sighed, "but it's hard."

"I'm sure," Y/N said.

They didn't make eye contact and didn't say anything for a bit. Then Y/N spoke up, "Well, I wish you the best of luck in keeping this store running. It's always been a part of my childhood."

He smiled, "Thank you."

Y/N blushed. He looked really cute when he smiled. They flicked their eyes to his little name tag in curiosity.

Sadık.
