"Ahh Fuck this water is cold." Clementine said as she slowly hopped into the clear water with aid from an already soaked Violet. "Oh come on, are you scared or something, I've literally seen you kill a walker with your bare hands." The blonde said encouragingly. After all the shit they had been through they deserved a break from the chaos that was the end of the world. As the couple entered waist deep water Clementine jumped slightly at the feeling of the cooling water against her naked stomach. She took a second to adjust to the temperature as she clung to the blonde at her side. "Look our love alert at 1 o'clock." Said Violet pointing towards Louis an James, as usual Louis was messing around like a toddler and James was watching on trying not to laugh. However they seemed slightly different to Clementine, they seemed closer. "Oh my god really, how do you know?" Clementine said happily as she slowly walked deeper into the water. Violet smiled, "Well James asked me about Piano Boy a while ago and they have been together quite a lot recently." Clementine squeezed Violet hand slightly and looked over at the scenery in the distance, open forest and a small collection of hills covering the back. "I love you Vi." She said quietly, "I know, you talk in your sleep." She said looking over at the brunette. "I do not" Clementine retorted. "You do" Violet responded. After a minute of "you do" and "I don't" a small water fight had broken out. After a minute of that a full blown water war had erupted, Louis and James joining in as Ruby and Kate laughed on from the shoreline. Two Hours Later
"We totally won that water fight by the way." Louis said looking over his shoulder at the couple behind him. However his voice was not important to Clementine or Violet at that point, they were too busy giggling to themselves over the events of the day. Meanwhile Kate and Ruby were sharing their medical knowledge with each other.
"You know we still need to make the official Texas Two sign to put over the old school one." Clementine stated trying to squeeze the water out of her hair as she walked. "Depends, we could do that or we could conclude last nights talk?" Violet responded confidently. She looked over at Clementine, her cheeks reddened as she watched on. "I just hope we don't get interrupted again." She said as she walked off to talk to James. Clementine remaining flusters looked down at the floor, she paid attention to how she walked on her new leg. After waking like this for a while she looked up to see that they were close to the school again.
She stopped and took the entire school in, the vine covered outer wall near the gate covered in scorch marks from the fire the raiders had used. The large admin building and clock tower peaking over the top of the barbed wire. She looked over to the place she had shared her first kiss with Violet, she remembered the surge of anxiety that she felt when had told her how she felt. She wondered if there would ever be able to go back there with her missing leg.Violet turned around as she got to the gate and noticed Clementine looking over the school, however she noticed the way she was looking at the old building, usually she had a thinking face on as she planned a strategic way in and out, this time she looked over at the building with tear in her eyes, a glossy coat covered her amber eyes. As she walked over she also looked at the school, it didn't look any different to her. "Do you think that... that we would ever be able to go back up there?" Clementine said, her voice full of emotion. Violet took a moment to think, she looked up at the tower she also remembered the overwhelming anxiety she felt as she spoke to Clementine that night. "Clem you are that much of a badass that you could clime that thing with one arm." Violet said with a chuckle. Clementine smiled "Yeah... guess I could." She then turned and kissed the blonde's cheek. "Anyway ... don't we have something we should be doing?" The brunette said walking towards the gate.
"So were did we get to last time?" Violet said as she entered the room. Clementine did not speak but walked over to the bed slowly, "Vi.. I think I need to lie down a bit.. I feel a bit off." She said as she lay down. Violet tone suddenly shifted, "Clementine are you ok?" She said worried, Clementine lay there for a moment. "Yeah... I'll be fine just a little tired." Violet looked at her girlfriend for a moment, then walked over a planter a kiss on her lips. "I'll be in the green house or on the walk if you need me, just get some rest." She said as we left the room. Clementine lay there for a while longer before closing her eyes to sleep.
Then everything was on fire, the heat irradiated off the walls, she stumbled towards the door and opened it. The corridor was ablaze, the outside and inside becoming one as the walls collapsed, coughs erupted from Clementine as she walked along the smoke filled corridor. As she walked along she saw an old axe embed into a room door, it's head engraved with symbols and names, it seemed to emit an evil aura. As she passed the door she found her way outside, however she was not outside the school but in the ruins of an old factory, a group of people surrounding a fire, a familiar voice called out from behind her. As she turned around she was deep in the fortress, a lone tree stump sat in the middle of the forest, atop it a pair of damaged glasses and a playing card, both covered in specks of blood. As she walked over to them she began to fall for what seemed like a second but within that second she heard hours of voices from friends old and new, people that she had lost years ago and people she now classified as family.
Then she woke up, both cold and hot, light and heavy as she sat up slowly. Outside the window a deep blue light shon through the glass. "Clem?" A husky voice said form beside her. She turned to see the familiar pair of deep green eyes. She lay back down and looked at Violet, her pale skin reflecting the moon light and her blonde hair messily covering her forehead. She reached out and touched her face gently, her body moving closer to the blonde's. She snuggled next to her, even in the darkest of places Violet made Clem feel safe. Neither person spoke, they just lay there. Together.
