Today I woke up in a strange house, it's dark and... and I don't know where I am.
Several Minutes after the escape from the Delta HQ, Three years ago,Minerva
Minerva stumbled as she ran from the yelling and burning of the factory behind her, her breathing grew shorter and vision more blurry. As she left the outskirts of the forest and the trees grew thicker and the ground more difficult to run across. She continued to run deeper and deeper until she tripped and fell forward, her head bouncing against the cold forest floor leaving her stunned.
The weak redhead rolled onto her back, she wasn't even sure why she was running, all she knew was that her head hurt. Minerva painfully dragged her self towards the nearest tree and sat against it, her eyes grew heavy and her vision darkened.
"Holy Shit! Fuck I've got to get you out of here."
Minerva slowly opened her eyes, her surroundings were unfamiliar, she sat up and looked around. The walls were half painted a dark red, several paint cans lay on the floor on the opposite side of the room, next to the bed a table with a lantern dimly lit up the room.
The redhead attempted to stand up, her head spun violently causing her to fall down.
"Shit." She said to herself as she held her head.
She tried again, slowly climbing out of the bed, she stumbled lightly but eventually gained her balance, she looked around and headed towards the window.
Her eyes scanned the growing darkness outside, in the distance she could make out the outline of a mountain. Minerva shrugged and turned around instead drawing her attention to a candlelit washbasin near the corner of the room.
She looked into the mirror her slightly longer uncut hair buried a bandage which was wrapped around her forehead, she reached back and lightly tapped her wound casing her to wince. After a second to recover she looked down at the shallow bowl of water, she scooped a small amount into her hands a splashed it onto her face.
Minerva looked down again and spotted a pair of scissors, she grabbed them and looked back up at the mirror and cut away at the slightly over grown side of hair until it reached a shorter length. As the redhead placed down the scissors she stepped back in confusion. 'Why did I do that?' She thought, she looked at herself again, it felt natural that one side of her hair was shorter and she didn't know why.
She turned around and looked back at the bed, noticing a chair she had missed previously next to the bed, a pile of folded clothes including her green jacket lay next to a note.
'Dear Red Wolf, Had to wash your clothes as they were covered in blood and were staring to smell- A.'
Minerva looked down and quickly noticed that she was wearing very little clothes, only a large red flannel shirt which drooped over her body loosely hid her underwear.
She quickly grabbed her her cargo pants and slid them and readjusted her shirt. Looking back down Minerva saw another note.
'I didn't peak, I promise-A' a small smiling face sat next to the signature.
Minerva dropped the note and headed to the door in search for her mystery host, she grabbed the handle and pulled, to her surprise it opened without force.
Stepping out she was shocked buy the illumination of the room, several strings of small lights dangled from the banister to her right, she looked down at the main room below, several couches and armchairs surrounded a fireplace. To her right three other doors, each had an sign, the door Minerva had just opened read 'Red Wolf' and the next read 'Black Cat'
Minerva continued along the corridor until she reached the stairs at the end, following the bend she entered the large main room, the fireplace and chair to her left and what seemed to be a breakfast bar to her left underneath the corridor.
She walked over to the fireplace, a low ember gently burned. Walking over to the large curtains she pulled one aside revealing a large pair of windows looking which covered the entire wall.
A distance noise echoed outside.
"Fuck!" A voice called from outside, Minerva quietly hid herself behind the nearest chair and focused her vision on the door.
After a brief moment the door swung open and a loud wind filled the room and a woman entered, the carcass of a deer on her shoulders. The woman quickly kicked the door closed and continued behind the bar and into what Minerva believed to be a kitchen.
"Ok so got the food...filled up the tanks...oh fuck I forgot to feed her, I hope she's up."
The woman quickly ran from the kitchen and up the stairs and opened the door to the door Minerva awoke in.
"Hey are you still here or did you leave? I could really do with the company, I promise I'm not weird or crazy." The woman paused. "Well that depends on who you asked." She laughed and walked slowly towards the stairs. She suddenly stoped and looked down at the living area.
Minerva quickly stood up, realising that she was no longer hidden. "H-Hello?" She said nervously looking at the woman.
The dark haired woman rushed down the stairs in a mixture of excitement and worry . Minerva cautiously stepped back as she approached.
"Woah, calm down, you took a pretty serious hit to the head, do you feel ok?
The woman quickly indicated her to sit down on the nearest seat, Minerva complied and sat down, the other woman joined her.
"Who are you? And where are we?" She questioned.
"I'm Abby and to be honest I found this place a week ago and I've been driving for a while so I'm not too sure myself. And who are you if you don't mind me asking?"
Minerva sat and attempted to remember the very last thing she could.
"Minerva... yeah Minerva but my friends call me Minnie."
Abby smiled, "Well then Minnie it's nice to meet you, speaking of friends where are yours, when I found you, you were pretty beat up, I had to glue your head back together."
Minerva frowned as she attempted to remember, everything was hazy and distant, "I don't know, I can't remember much, just an axe, a river and... and the letter D."
Abby reached out a grabbed Minerva's hand gently, "Hey its ok, we're safe here, just relax I've got you."
The next chapter or two I'm going to be exploring what happened to Minerva after the Delta escape and how she met up with Harry and Andrew after the Cannibal's, hope you enjoyed I've been loving your feedback and theory's.
