It was a cool spring day near Bucharest, Romania. Drops of dew still clung to the grass. Vlad Ţepeş was out with his men to blow off some pent up aggression. They were going to go deer hunting. As the menrode through town, a young woman sprinted from the Boar's Head Inn, to the nearby stable owned the inn. Vlad frowned, as the girl was quite lovely to look upon. Oh well. Beauty is no excuse to break his laws. She had probably stabbed a lover, in a fit of rage or refused to pay for room and food.

He quickly ordered his men to capture the woman, then bring her to him, for interrogation. His men had only managed to dismount, when the blonde haired woman appeared at the stall door. The door had been left unlatched, so the woman managed to kick the door open and leave, aboard a wiry built bay horse. The horse was almost at full speed just past the overhang of the stable. He yelled for his men to mount and give chase.

It was then, a dangerous looking smirk crossed the Impaler's face and his eyes gained a cruel "twinkle" to them. He'd gotten a grand show of the woman's legs and a bit of bare ass cheek, as she had tied the dress in a knot. It was so that her bare legs wrapped around the horse's sides. It struck him odd until he realized there was no saddle...and no bridle! There was only a narrow strip of leather around the horse's neck for her to hold on to.

(Author's Note: GRAPHIC AND REALISTIC DETAILS: I, the author, took years to get over my horse wreck, show jumping. My horse got tangled in a jump fence pole and he was unable to clear his legs. That day I had to say goodbye as my beloved horse had broken his shoulder and punctured his lungs. I walked away without even a bruise though I had to be pulled out from under him. His men covered the ground quickly, chasing the woman. Vlad had sent the men ahead as they had battle trained riding horses. He was upon a great war horse but war horses are slower due to size. His war horse was the best money could buy if he had bought the animal. He forced the horse breeder to give the horse to him in exchange for not impaling his whole family, in front of their home.

In his excitement to start chasing her, he dug his sharp spurs in the war horse's sides. Vlad's motion had been so sudden and then painful from the spurs, that the horse started to rear in fright. The Prince said a low curse under his breath and could hear his riding instructor yell, " lean forward and give the horse some rein, you idiot!"

Many young and old riders had been killed by having their horse rear so far up, as to go over backwards and be crushed to death by the falling horse. The horse quickly came down on all four hooves and leapt forward to gallop after the others.

Vlad caught up, quicker than he figured, only to have to pull the horse up to a sudden stop. He saw his men sitting at the edge of a forest, that had been cut down a decade ago and so there were young trees and old fallen ones. He couldn't believe she had entered the forest on horseback, let alone not slowing down, to navigate the trees easier. He yelled abusively at his men to get going and follow the woman through the woods. They would hunt her like a deer. His men, the beaters and him the hunter.

The Prince circled his horse right and headed to go around the woods and intercept her as soon, as she came out of the forest. Vlad managed to only beat her by a couple of minutes. He marveled at how she had gotten through so fast, though he could see her dress was torn, from her arms and legs being scraped against trees. She appeared not to have noticed him yet, as she was riding up right, arms raised as if she was pretending to fly to freedom.

The skilled horse rider had been overconfident and failed to visually clear the ground ahead of her. She jumped the large fallen tree, with her arms still up in the air, thinking she had claimed victory. Her victory was snatched away, as she had failed to see a large, rotten stump just on the other side of the tree. And as if it was slow motion, the horse's front legs landed in the stump.
