Lillia asked Vlad which exhibits he wished to see most of all. He of course picked European history, Crusades and such. She was quite knowledgeable on the subject as she lived during the times of such history. Then over two hours passed quickly and as the two were wrapping up, Lilly subconsciously stopped at the Ancient Egyptian exhibit. She had halted and was turned to face a huge basalt statue of a Egyptian woman, with a lion's head instead of a human's one. She seemed to be in deep thought. The Count glanced at the plaque and read:

Sekhmet was the Egyptian goddess of destruction and healing. Her consort is Ptah, a creator god and their child is Nefertem. The three are the triad for Memphis of Ancient Egypt. Sekhmet is the literal right eye of Ra.

The ancient story goes that Ra was old and the humans had become disrespectful towards him and life in general. They had even stopped worshipping him and the others. One day he had enough and reached up to his right eye and plucked it out. He cast it down on the ground. The eye transformed into a goddess with a lioness's head. She asked what her father needed and he explained she needed to kill them all.

She came to Egypt and began to slaughter all deemed 'evil' in the eyes of Ra. She was so good at killing, that she refused to stop. She would kill and lap up the blood. She had become filled with blood lust. Ra then felt sorry for the rest of mankind.

With the help of Thoth, they brewed 7,000 jars of beer dyed with ground hematite. The beer was spread on the ground and looked like a lake of blood. When the sun rose, Sekhmet went to drink the blood that was beer. She became drunk and her rage stopped. From then on Sekhmet was also a goddess of Healing.

Vlad (a.ka. Alucard) just stood still and studied Lillia, she seemed to be saying something in Egyptian. He could have swore it was a prayer. How old is the woman?

This just gets better and better! He hadn't been bored since he met Lilly.

"Miss Lillia, I appreciate you giving me this tour. John was right, you are quite knowledgeable. How is it you know so much for your age?"

Lillia turned to him and flatly stated, "I am able to function on 4 hours of sleep a day and I am older than I look."

"One would say you burn the candle at both ends, do not let it be the death of you," Vlad mused.

Lilly thought that was a strange comment but let it slip by. Her attention snapped back to her friend John. He needed to speak to her about some fundraiser. The Count reached for Lillia's hand and kissed it again.

"Perhaps I can take you to dinner and the opera?"

"Ah ya, Carmina Burana is my favorite," she smiled and was then following John to an office to talk. Vlad (Alucard in disguise) would put Walter to work on finding if the opera was being produced and good restaurants to have dinner at. Things are coming together rather well, too well.

Alucard wondered when Sir integra would call him back for a 'briefing'.

30. O Sekhmet, the one who fills the ways with blood (and) who slays to the limit of all she sees! Come toward the Living Image, the Living Falcon! Protect him, (and) save him from every contagion (and) from every arrow of this year [hurled against his faculty of sight]. ~Litany of Sekhmet
