The phone rang about 6 a.m. It was David and he needed to be picked up from the hospital. He was being treated at Macclesfield Hospital. David was so vain about his hair so it made sense. This hospital offered "caps" that helped, with the loss of hair. It seems he was also visited by his lawyer in the hospital.

Lilly took David's black Mercedes Benz coupe to the hospital. David turned to see his ex-finance, slowly walking to him. The sun shined through the windows and highlighted Lilly's hair. She wore a simple emerald green dress and brown over the knee boots. God she was so beautiful, why couldn't she love completely?

David turned back to the doctor and proceeded to introduce his doctor by the name of Holmes. "Dr. Holmes this is my good friend Lillia Steiger," David coolly stated. "She's from America and just arrived yesterday."

The doctor was about 5'9" with sandy brown hair and light brown eyes. Dr. Holmes smiled as he extended his right hand. "It is so nice to see you Miss Steiger."

"David, I think you are in good hands here but if your health takes a turn for the worst contact me night or day.."

This was the last thing the doctor said and then turned to walk away. Lilly felt the small emotional leak from the doctor, to know he hadn't said the truth about David's real health condition.

David and Lilly walked quietly out of the hospital, neither one seemed to want to talk. When the couple reached David's car, Lilly gave David the keys and hoped driving, would get him to tell her, any information. She could push in and read his thoughts but she refused most of the time. It was an invasion of a person, their deepest thoughts and memories were to be respected and off limits, unlike Alucard's stunt at the club. Besides, David was very astute and would know she was poking around in his head.

He had been but a handful of humans, that eventually could see through her illusions, when the couple was intimate. The day David figured it out, the couple had been having intense and passionate sex. He had slipped out of the illusion, to find Lily's forehead pressed to his and seductively speaking, in a language he had never heard before. His body jumped, from having come out the telepathic link, with Lilly. She became aware and looked quickly into his eyes.

She had been caught!

At the time, David simply raised his right hand finger and pointed out. "You have an hour to get your shit out of my house, starting now."

That was seven years ago.

Finally Lillia, broke the silence of the car drive, in a low and pleading voice asked, "Why won't you let me help you? I could have cured you but you wouldn't let me. I just don't understand..."

"Lilly there is no easy way to say this, but I would have my health back, but I don't have you back. If you won't love me back the same and marry me, then I don't wish to continue. I have tried to move on but there is no other, as special as you..." David softly replied.

He almost thought Lily had not heard him but then he remembered she had above average hearing. She was immortal with heightened senses, of course, she heard him. Tears were pooling in the bottom of her eyes and she choked hard, to keep them from falling. The rest of the short drive was in silence. No one seemed to know what to say after that.
