I woke up to the sound of shuffling in the room, and my eyes fluttered open. Logan was rummaging around, looking for something. The sunlight streaming through the window made me squint as I sat up, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep.
"Logan, what are you looking for?" I asked, my voice still groggy. He glanced over at me, a small smirk playing on his lips.
"Nothing important. Did I wake you?" he asked, though he didn't seem too concerned about it.
I nodded, rubbing my eyes. The memories of last night came rushing back, and I felt a flush of heat rise to my cheeks. "I can't believe you did that to me yesterday," I said, giving him a pointed look.
Logan's face shifted into a mock expression of innocence. "Did what?" he asked, but there was a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"You can't be serious right now," I said, my eyes widening in disbelief. Surely, he couldn't have forgotten so easily.
He chuckled nervously, but I could tell he was enjoying this too much. "I was drunk, babe. I don't remember much," he said, moving closer. His voice dropped to a whisper as he leaned in, "Care to remind me?"
Before I could respond, he had somehow managed to slip behind me, his breath hot against my ear. I shivered, not just from the closeness but from the suddenness of it all. "No, I don't want to talk about it," I said, trying to keep my composure. But it was hard with him this close, the memories of last night still fresh in my mind.
Logan pressed a gentle kiss to my neck, his lips lingering just long enough to make my heart race. "I was only joking," he said, his voice smooth and teasing. "Of course I remember, baby."
I turned to face him, shoving him lightly in the chest. "Logan," I protested, trying to sound stern, but the heat in my face betrayed me.
He grinned, a playful glint in his eyes as he mimicked me, "Augh Logan," he moaned in a high-pitched voice, mocking me shamelessly. I rolled my eyes, trying to hide my embarrassment.
"I don't have time for this," I said, blushing furiously. "I'm going to get ready." I started to move away, but his voice stopped me in my tracks.
"I see you liked it last night," he said, his tone dripping with smugness. "Don't worry, there's more where that came from."
I didn't dare turn around, too flustered by his words. Instead, I hurried into the bathroom, closing the door behind me. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I couldn't help but glance at my reflection in the mirror. My cheeks were flushed, and my hair was a mess. I quickly brushed my teeth, washed my face, and threw my hair into a messy bun. I needed to calm down.
When I finally felt composed enough, I left the bathroom and headed downstairs, still wearing one of Logan's oversized tees and a pair of his shorts. Serena was in the kitchen when I arrived.
"Good morning," I greeted her with a smile, but she gave me a curious look before returning the smile.
"Good morning, Sapphire," she said, taking a sip of her coffee. "Would you like some coffee?"
I shook my head. "No, thanks. I'd love some hot chocolate, though."
She nodded, just as Logan walked into the kitchen and wrapped his arms around my waist. I bit my lip, trying to ignore the way his touch made my pulse quicken.
"Coffee for me, thanks, Mom," Logan said, kissing Serena on the cheek. I quickly excused myself, heading into the living room, but Logan was right behind me.
Before I could sit down, he grabbed my hand and pulled me close, his lips crashing against mine in a heated kiss. I was taken by surprise, my hands instinctively clutching at his shirt. When he finally pulled away, I was breathless.
"Logan, what was that for? No one's watching," I whispered, my voice trembling slightly. He just smirked, brushing his lips against mine in a quick peck.
"I know," he said, his voice low. "I just love seeing you with my mark on your skin. It turns me on."
My eyes widened in shock, and I bolted for the nearest bathroom, looking in the mirror to see what he meant. Sure enough, there were hickeys scattered across my neck. I groaned, realizing I didn't have any makeup with me to cover them up. With a resigned sigh, I left the bathroom and rejoined Logan.
"Logan, can we leave?" I asked, feeling the heat of embarrassment creeping up my neck again.
He pouted but eventually nodded. Just as we were about to leave, Serena came out with my hot chocolate and Logan's coffee.
"Serena, I'm sorry for making you make the tea, but I'm not feeling well, so I'm going home. But I'll take the tea with me if that's okay," I said, giving her a sheepish smile.
Serena smiled warmly, hugging me gently. "That's okay, darling. Go home and rest."
I thanked her and took the tea, following Logan out to the car. As we drove, Logan suddenly asked, "Did you tell my mom that you're pregnant?"
I nearly choked on my drink. "What? No, I did not!" I said, frowning in confusion.
Logan sighed, running a hand through his hair. "When I was coming out, she said, 'Take good care of her, son. Wouldn't want anything to happen to the baby.' I told her you're not pregnant, but she insisted that maybe I don't know, and it's just the way you've been acting."
I chuckled, taking a sip of my hot chocolate. "Your mom's got quite the imagination."
He glanced over at me, a small smile playing on his lips. "She does. But I guess I can't blame her. We do put on a pretty convincing show."
As we neared home, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Playing the role of Logan's girlfriend was exhausting, but I couldn't deny that it had its moments. I licked my lips and smiled, lost in thought.
"Thinking about me?" Logan asked, placing his hand on my leg. I slapped his hand away, making him laugh.
"Such a fuckboy," I muttered, but I couldn't help the small smile that tugged at my lips. He did a little dance in his seat, clearly enjoying himself. "Ugh, I can't believe this."
The car finally stopped, and I got out, running into the house while giggling. Logan had been much nicer to me lately, and despite everything, I was grateful for the way he had taken me in and looked after me. I just wished everyone could enjoy this kind of safety and comfort.
"Hey, that's not fair!" Logan called out, but I just laughed, running up the stairs to my room. I know opening that door myself would rile him up.
When I got there, I was greeted by Sara, who looked surprised when I hugged her tightly. "Darling, I missed you too," she said with a warm smile.
"Sorry, just glad to be home," I said, pulling away. Since I was back, I decided there was no need to hide the hickeys. Sara left the room, and I collapsed onto my bed, hoping for some much-needed rest. Yes, I just got up but Logan kept me up all night.
Just as I was drifting off, there was a knock at the door. "Come in," I called out, and to my surprise, Adonis walked in.
"Oh my god, Adonis," I said, jumping up to give him a hug. "What are you doing up here? I don't want Logan to get angry again."
He smiled, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "I just came to say hi."
I relaxed a little, but the tension still lingered. "Oh, I see you've got something on your neck," he whispered, and I instinctively placed my hand over the hickeys.
"Yeah, it's nothing," I said, feeling awkward under his gaze.
Adonis chuckled softly. "Well, I should go. Don't want to cause any trouble."
I nodded, watching him leave before collapsing back onto my bed. Hopefully, that would be the last interruption. I was exhausted, and all I wanted was some peace and quiet.
