SAPPHIRE POV
Today was my gender reveal party, and I could hardly contain my excitement. I sat upstairs, waiting while Adonis and his friends finished setting up downstairs. My heart raced with anticipation as I ran a hand over my baby bump, my mind racing with thoughts of what I might discover.
"I hope it's a boy and a girl," I whispered to myself, smiling down at my rounded belly. Scarlett had picked out a soft pink dress for me, and it fit perfectly, accentuating my growing bump without being too tight.
A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. "Sapphire?" Isabella called before stepping into the room with a gift in hand. She smiled, walking over to sit beside me.
"I know Logan doesn't want kids," she began, "but my mom bought these baby clothes for him a while back, just in case. He kept them in his room, so I figured you should have them."
"Thank you, Isa," I said, pulling her into a hug. "But...won't he notice?"
Isabella shook her head with a laugh. "He doesn't care. He probably doesn't even remember where he put it."
I chuckled, feeling a little lighter as I unwrapped the gift. Inside were the most adorable baby clothes—tiny onesies in neutral colors. Tears welled up in my eyes as I touched the soft fabric.
"They're unisex," she explained quietly. "She didn't know what he'd be having."
"I feel bad for not inviting your mom," I admitted, blinking back my emotions.
Isabella grinned. "Don't worry—she's here."
"What?" I gasped, my heart leaping into my throat.
"Kyla told her," Isabella said, trying to hide her smile. "And now... well, everyone knows. They're all here."
I groaned, panic setting in. "So... does that mean Logan's here?"
She quickly shook her head. "No, no. He's the only one who didn't come."
I felt a twinge of guilt. Logan was their father, after all, but the thought of him finding out terrified me.
"Sapphire, come down now!" Adonis called from the living room.
With Isabella's help, I got to my feet and made my way downstairs. The sight that greeted me left me speechless. Adonis and his friends had outdone themselves—blue and pink decorations everywhere, buttons for "Team Boy" and "Team Girl," and treats in every corner.
"Oh my god, this is amazing! Thank you so much," I said, giving Adonis a tight hug.
He laughed, waving off my gratitude. "Just don't touch those balloons," he teased, nodding toward the two large balloons that held the big secret.
I pouted but moved on, walking into the kitchen where Serena stood. "Serena, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I was scared Logan would find out."
She smiled knowingly. "It's okay, Sapphire. I knew long before you even said anything."
I sighed in relief but couldn't shake the worry in my stomach. "I just hope he doesn't..."
Serena arched an eyebrow. "He doesn't know yet, but secrets don't last forever." With a playful smile, she left the room, leaving me to mull over her words.
As I took a bite of a blue cupcake, I spotted Kyla lying on the carpet. She smiled at me and stood up, running over and tugging on my arm.
"Kyla," I sighed, bending down to her level, "why didn't you keep our little secret?"
With her hands on her tiny hips, she looked up at me, serious as ever. "I'm two years old! I can't keepa secret! Oh lord, have mercy!" She threw her arms dramatically into the air, and I couldn't help but laugh.
