i could feel the base going through my whole body. we were in the midst of a huge crowd of millions of people. we danced to the music blaring from the stage speakers. even being around so many people, it just felt like her and i. we were at a concert and we were screaming the lyrics to our favorite song...

me: my last made me feel like
allissa: i would never try again
me: but when i saw you i felt something i never felt
allissa: COME CLOSER
me: AND GIVE YOU
allissa/kate: ALL MY LOVE IF YOU TREAT ME RIGHT BABY ILL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING

it was my first weekend with my bestfriend in new york city. it's insane when i really think about it. we just moved here all the way from florida, where we lived our whole life. this is me, kate...

 this is me, kate

my bestfriend in the entire world, like my other half and we've known each other since we were only 3 years old. our moms met on a cruise and realized they both lived in the same area and became close friends and that's when allissa and i met. 14 years later, we graduated from our high school early because we skipped junior year and decided we wanted to take a gap year and just live a little before starting college. new york has always been our dream place to live for years. we saved up a lot and got some help from our parents. our families are super chill and trusted us enough to do this, since we are pretty mature for our age to be honest. we have a small apartment that we're sharing and we both got good jobs to support ourselves. here we are now, and i couldn't be happier.

after the concert was over, we made our way out of the stadium and waited on the city side walk for a cab to come by that we could catch. allissa was in the restroom at a subway behind me. i glanced over my right shoulder to see this tall guy that was around my age, i assumed, off in the distance. he was running down the sidewalk in my direction and i saw a group of girls were walking close behind him. i just ignored it. i looked down to grab my phone out of my wallet to ask if allissa was almost done in the restroom as a cab pulls up to the side walk in front of me. i see a hand reach the door handle of the cab. i look up and get a quick glimpse of his face. before i know it, he swings himself into the car and closes the door and i realize it was that same guy! he stole my cab! the cab drives off.

me: asshole!

the girls started crowding around me.

??: OH. MY. GOD
????: DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT WAS
???: AHHHH I KNOOOOWW
????: i almost touched him.
??: WHAT
???: i almost touched HIM. what is happening.

i roll my eyes as these girls are throwing a fit over this random guy. what is even so crazy about this guy..? the girls slowly start to wonder off down the street. allissa slowly comes out of subway and stands next to me.

allissa: what the actual fuck just happened.
me: i have no idea. this random guy just stole our cab!
allissa: yeah i could see through the window when i walked out of the bathroom.
me: i don't understand why people have to be such assholes sometimes.
allissa: well people in new york aren't really the nicest people.
me: i mean from anywhere.

we grab another cab instead and road home to our apartment. we both took showers and went to our bedrooms to go to bed since it was a long night. tomorrow allissa and i are going back into town for some coffee and shopping, since we couldn't bring our whole wardrobe from home to here. it's gonna be really fun :)
