"taking the chance"

josh's POV:

i hear my name being called down the hall right before the elevator door shut. it sounded like kate's voice. i try to stop the elevator, but it won't. i take it all the way down to the lobby. i bolt out once i make it and i go to a different elevator and hit the up button over and over. i hope i actually heard her say my name and it wasn't just my imagination. as i'm getting impatient, i glance at the glass doors and i see a familiar figure standing out in the rain. her hair looks a lot like kate's. i run out the doors, out into the cold, pouring rain.

kate's POV:

i stood there wondering why i'm such a fuck up and i should've just said yes when he was about to ask me-

???: kate??

i hear josh's voice behind me. i turn around fast and see josh's face, looking at me with confusion. my eyes fill with tears and i run to him, our bodies smashing against each other and our arms rapping around one another. we stay like this for a moment before i back away to look into his eyes.

me: i don't think i can keep myself away from you no matter how hard i try right now. i think i'm hurting myself more by keeping myself away from you, the one guy that i've never been so sure about. it was just the distance thing getting to my head, but i know you're different so why am i holding back.

we're looking into each other's eyes. he was smiling so big and i could feel true happiness running through my body.

me: i'm taking the chance for you.

i mumble before smashing my lips against his. our lips move in sink. i almost got the feeling of sparks when he kissed me. he kissed me passionately, until he eventually broke the kiss to take a breath.

josh: you're sure about this kate?

i nod my head.

josh: in that case..

i feel butterflies in my stomach.

"will you be my girlfriend?"

me: yes. yes. yes. a million times...yes.

i run my fingers through his hair as he kisses me one last time and i can feel him smiling.

this is the moment i've been longing for..

september 19th
*next day*

i wake up when i feel josh's lips lightly press against mine. i think i made the best choice of my entire life...i smile and open my eyes to see him laying on top of me, looking at my face.

josh: goodmorning, beautiful.
me: now i could get used to waking up like that every morning.
josh: *chuckles* i'd be more than happy to.
me: how'd you get in?
josh: allissa let me in and told me that you were in here still sleeping.

i pull him towards me and kiss him again. i feel his hair is wet and realize he just took a shower. he was super hot with his hair wet. i remember last night after he asked me to be his girlfriend in the rain. we went upstairs and cuddled for a while and he left around 3am. i couldn't believe it was real and that i actually finally let go.

i got up and showered. i entered my room in just a towel, seeing josh laying on my bed staring at me. i grab some clothes and start to walk back to the bathroom to change. i pause and turn back around to see him looking me up and down.

me: don't get any ideas.

i hear him laughing as i shut the bathroom door. i come out and i'm wearing this...

josh's POV:

kate walks into the room and she looked stunning in literally everything she wore i swear. i got up and looked her up and down. she was blushing.

me: how did i get so lucky..
kate: i don't know how I got so lucky..

she laughs a little and lightly kisses me, standing on her tiptoes.

kate: what are we gonna do today? i have off till 3pm.
me: well i desperately need coffee right now. and then whatever you want to do.
kate: lets definitely get coffee and we can go to the mall after because i need to do some shopping.

she grabs my hand and we walk out of her room. allissa was sitting on the couch. before we walk out the door, kate walks over to her.

kate's POV:

i see allissa smiling as we're making our way to the door. i walk up to her.

me: so i listened to you and loosened up.
allissa: i see that *smirks* sooo? *whispers to me*
kate: josh is officially my boyfriend *smiles*

josh walks up behind me, putting his hands on my waist and kisses me on the cheek. she starts squealing.

allissa: yessss!! finally!! now i don't have to hear her complain "oh my god i want josh" "no i can't do this" "i just wanna be with him" "ohhhh allissa help meee"
me: hey!
allissa: it's just facts..

we all laugh.

me: i'll be back at two.
allissa: okay don't do anything stupid and be safe.
me: you sound like my mom..
allissa: well someone has to be your mother because god knows you would go off the rails if you didn't have me.
me: look who's talking. allissa, you're the wild one. we all know this.
allissa: just go *shews us out the door*

josh and i are laughing as she closes the door.

*after coffee*

we walk into the mall and i start by going to cotton on. josh picks out some clothes for me to try on, not all of them were good but some
were. then we went to american eagle, tillys, abacrombie, hollister, pacsun etc. we were walking passed the food court on our way to victoria's secret. (i'm wearing josh's hoodie) all of a sudden i feel josh push the hoodie over my head and i'm practically hidden inside of it.

me: uhh what was that for?
josh: i just saw someone about to take a picture of us together.
me: shit.
josh: we need to talk about that by the way.
me: about going public?
josh: yeah, because people know we're here and if they see us together or doing anything "couply" they'll post it and it'll get around eventually.
me: so we either have to be careful in public or just announce we're together?
josh: i'm fine with whatever. it's your choice.
me: i don't know...i'll think about it.
josh: of course, i don't want to pressure you.

he kisses the top of my head after pulling the hood back off.

after, i had to get an uber to go home to get ready for work. before the uber arrived, josh walked me outside the mall.

josh: i'll see you tomorrow princess.
me: okay josh *smiles*

i hug him tight and he kisses me. it felt great to finally call him mine and not feel like i have to hold myself back from him. i get inside the uber and ride home..
