"It's true.."

I can't bear to look him in the eye and see something I don't want to see. But I could hear his breathing. It's shallow and shaky. I hope he's not crying. I don't know how to react when people cry.

"You must get back together again..."

I heard him mumble.

"I can't let this happen,"

"You are not responsible, Tee." I tried to explain as best as I could. "This is my own mess. It's me, not you."

"No,"

I looked at him because somehow his tone had changed. He had his head bowed, hiding his tears from me.

"I won't let you two get separated." H said shaking his head. "I'll make it better, make it alright."

"Who do you think you are, Tee?" I snorted. "Stop trying to play God. What happened, already happened. Now it's time to move on with our lives. You're trying to fix something already broken."

"Easy for you to say," His head snapped up. My heart went out for him when I saw his miserable look.

"You can't fix it Tee," I soften my voice. "The glass will never be the same even if you put the shards back together, don't you understand Tee?"

"But this is wrong.... this shouldn't have happened..."

He's shaking his head. he doesn't seem to hear a word I'm saying to him. He's too stubborn.

"Look, Tee." I leaned closer. He automatically moved back, avoiding contact with me. I slipped one hand behind his head and stopped. "Stop feeling guilty." I pressed our foreheads together. "Just stop, okay?" He's shaking from head to toe.

"I can't...I have to try..." He murmured, lifting his face up. His eyes are shining with tears, even in the semi-darkness.

Risking that someone might see us, I leaned closer. "Don't...." He mumbled trying to evade my face. But my hold is firm.

"Stop worrying..." I whispered pressing my lips on him. A shaky breath escaped his parted mouth. His lips are soft and warm yet tasted salty with tears.

He's pushing my chest, trying to get away.

"Stop..." He finally managed to avert his face, turning away from the kiss. "I can't—"

The van stopped and we both moved away from each other.

"That's my stop," Tee quickly gathered his stuff and slipped away. He didn't even spare me a glance.
