Chapter 3 Bucky Barnes

Y/n walked down the corridor of Starks Tower exhausted from a long day of helping Tony with some new gadgets for the Avengers team she had only managed to catch 2 hours sleep before she even started her shift.

Y/n grabbed her bag and her leather jacket checking her messages since she hadn't been on her phone for the whole 24hrs of working with Tony.

She scrolled through the messages multiple from her boyfriend and one from her Mom.

Looking through the ones from her boyfriend made a tear slip down her face.

"don't bother coming home, you're cheating on me with that prick iron man I sent all your shit to your Moms, I expect the flat key to be sent to me by next week."

She then opened her Moms message.

"hey baby Ricky was an ass and I have all your things in your old room just let me know when you are driving, I know it's a long way here love Mom"

A whimper left her mouth and she sat on the small chair texting her Mom back.

"hi Mom, I just got off work I'll start driving back when I've calmed down, don't wait up for me i love you" she sent the message as she continued to cry.

"miss l/n Tony would like to see you in the living room before you leave" jarvis said.

Y/n stood up and wiped the tears away.

"Jarvis tell Tony i will be there soon" she whispered but thankfully the computer picked it up.

Putting her phone back in her pocket she walked towards the elevator and then went up to the required level.

"Tony?" she whispered walking into the living room.

She looked up seeing all of the Avengers sitting around holding their new gadgets, they all looked up and smiled at her until they noticed her red tear stained face.

"Y/n just in time, you want a drink?" Tony asked but stopped seeing her face.

"In time for what, I have a long drive back?" she asked hoping they wouldn't bring up why she had been crying.

"whiskey it is and you only live 4 blocks away" Tony said handing her the double whiskey.

She downed it and he poured another all eyes still on her.

"I'm driving back to see my Mom don't worry I'll be in on time" she mumbled.

He nodded and looked at her sympathy in his eyes.

"come sit down, we all wanted to say thank you since you've helped the team so much so we want to have a movie night with you" Nat and Steve butted in.

She smiled and nodded.

"that would be nice" she whispered pulling her phone out and texting her Mom that she would be late.

Y/n grabbed the drink and walked towards them the only seat that was free was next to Bucky who she had gotten close with since he had gotten here.

She cuddled next to him leaning on his shoulder as he pulled the blanket over them.

Tony started the movie 'The Goonies'.

Half way through the film most of the Avengers had either fallen asleep or went to their rooms.

"you okay" Bucky whispered noticing tears down her face from the glare of the TV.

She nodded and took his hand.
"I'm better now I'm with you" she whispered back to him trying to hide a yawn.
