The Sky Army's Defeat- Chapter Six: The Healing
The general stirred, groaning loudly as his back screamed in protest against his attempt to sit up.
Which resulted in him laying back down.
He stared at his bonded wrists in front of his tear stained face, noticing that the cuffs cut into his skin.
They looked as if they were a part of his skin, like they were always there.
The General shook his head, but noticed something at the other side of his cell.
He stared, thinking the squids to be cruel.
There, far out of reach of the General, sat a vile of pink liquid.
A healing potion.
The General growled a curse under his breath and, inhaling sharply, started to slowly make his way over to the little solution to his agony.
Every movement was excruciating.
Every nerve in his body screamed in protest, louder and louder the closer he got to the potion.
His vision was fuzzy and full of black dots, sweat beaded his face and his breathing was heavy when he was almost a few blocks away from the medicine.
Just a little farther he told himself.
Digging his fingers in between two blocks, he pulled himself closer.
The bottle was just out of arms reach by then and the general didn't want to risk passing out with another excruciating pull forward.
He reached out for it, his fingertips grazing the bottom of the bottle.
Before he could attempt to move it towards him, a foot stepped down on his hand, crushing it.
The General screamed in agony, trying desperately to pull his hand out from under the foot.
The owner chuckled darkly. "Oh Sky, did you really think we'd give you a gift like this without a cost?"
The general mentally cursed as he realized who the foot belonged to.
"K-King S-Squid." Sky stuttered, trying to make it sound bitter.
The king chuckled again and snatched up the pink liquid, swishing it around in his face.
The general ground his teeth as the king increased the pressure on his broken hand.
"Do you really want to stop the pain Sky?"
The General groaned, nodding once.
"Well then, I'm sure you know the cost."
The General shook his head. "I-I will not comply S-Squid, I've told you t-this."
"Oh I know Sky, but I have something different to propose." the king smirked, leaning on Sky's hand.
The General cried out in pain, finally pulling his hand away.
"W-What do you w-want n-now?" The General sneered.
"Well, I have a few of your recruits waiting to be saved and blah blah blah so for every potion you drink, one of them turns. Deal?"
"N-Never in a million years s-squid." the general spat.
"Deal it is!" The king exclaimed, practically shoving the bottle down the general's throat.
The general, out of surprise, swallowed it in one gulp, then choked on the bitter liquid.
The king smirked, throwing the bottle to the side.
"Time to turn another fantastic recruit!" It cheered, striding out of the cell.
The General groaned as pain erupted down his back and in his hand.
He could feel the skin stitching itself back together slowly, his bones mending themselves, his muscles straining.
He let out one long, agonized scream before going limp, out cold.
