I feel that you guys need to know Gumi's past.

Is it okay that I'm adding Chapters of people's pasts between chapters of the storyline in the present? Tell me your thoughts in the comments.

Gumi thought the world was too good for her.

Many Years Before

Gumi POV

I'm gonna fail High School. I just know I am. I can see myself in 10 years working at Burger King. ('Cause McDonald's is too mainstream.)

But I still woke up every morning and tried the best I could. Because there is still hope somewhere, and I know it.

My green hair was long, reaching the top of my elbows. My eyes were the same color as my hair. Today, I was wearing a gray shirt with a red sweater over it with a pair of black skinny jeans. I had put on some red Converse and grabbed my green backpack, ready for the day.

My mom and dad were arguing, like usual. They started arguing over the smallest things, but they got worse. I always started crying, but now, it happens so much that it doesn't even matter to me anymore. I walked passed my parents, and out the door I went.

When I arrived, I saw my two "friends" Lily and Maika. You nay be wondering why I added the quotations next to the word friends. In reality, I don't want friends. Caring for things brings lots of trouble. And I didn't get accepted in the high school that was my first choice and all my friends from middle school are there. If I can't have my old friends, I don't want new ones.

I walked to them and faked a smile. "Hi, Gumi!" Lily said.

"Hey guys!" I tried sounding happy, which was really hard.

Maika smiled at me and held out a black lunch box. "Here," she said. "You said that you're not very good at cooking, so I decided to make you a lunch. I hope you like it!" She said.

"Th- Thanks, Maika."

I smiled and shyly grabbed the box. Gosh, these two were so nice. Yet I'm such a mean b*tch to them. I wish they never even met me. I don't deserve friends when all I do is reject them in the end because I don't get the friends I wanted. I'm such a brat, but I can't help it.

"Well, we should really get to class," Lily said, checking her phone.

We began walking to our assigned classes. Luckily, (for me) I have a different class. They have Class B and I have Class C. I put the lunch box in my bag and went to my seat. I sat at the front next to the wall, although I really wish I sat in the back near the window. But, this is just my luck.

Our teacher, Mr. Kiyoteru walked in, his black hair combed nicely. He pushed his glasses in place and smiled at us.

"Good morning, class. Take out your biology book and open up to page 27."

~Time Skip To Lunch Break~

Gosh, Mr. Kiyoteru is boring as hell. I'm glad it's finally lunchtime.

I sat down under the tree where I always sit to meet up with Lily and Maika. I lied down on the grass, feeling tired.

"Hey Gumi!" Lily said.

I looked up from the grass to see the girls who called themselves my friends. I sat up and smiled at them. "Hey guys!"

"Well, let's dig in!" Maika said, opening up her lunch box.

I grabbed the black box and opened it. Dang, Maika is a great cook. There were three rice balls that looked pretty... good. I saw fried shrimp on the other side and chopsticks. I picked them up and picked up a shrimp, putting it in my mouth. It tasted really, really good.
