Chapter 6: Confession

Silence.

It’s never ending in this room besides the beeping from the machines. They're going to discharge me finally once someone gets here to take me home and take care of me. The only problem with this was I had nobody to call. Blake made me cut my ties with everybody so I didn't have anyone who would have been remotely willing to take care of me. Yet I still found my fingers running over a foreign number, asking if they could discharge me from the hospital.

I wait anxiously, not positive about what's going to happen. It hurts to breathe and part of me doesn't want to leave so I can be cared for, but I know my time is up and I only have a short amount of time to find somewhere else to go. Blake would probably kill me when he got out so I don't want to be around to give him the opportunity.

"Miss Wilson? A young  gentlemen is here to see you," a nurse says upon poking his head I'm the room to see me.

"Send him in," is my short response causing me to have a huge intake of breath. The nurse disappears, but shortly returns to let in a familiar brunete. I let my lips curve up in to a smile though it hurts greatly. What is this boy doing to me?

"Ohmygod Jayden. What the fuck happened? I only dropped you off two days ago," Louis says as he takes a seat next to me.

"It was an accident...," I lead off. Blake never means to hurt me. His temper is just short and he refuses to see help about it.

"This doesn't look like an accident. Did that guy do this to you? Is this any you were so anxious to get home?" He asks me. I was so close to flinching, but his calm, soothing tone stops me. Does he care?

"What makes you jump to that conclusion?" I question. I notice the panicked look on his face, but it's there only momentarily.

"The doctor told me it was a uh a case of  domestic violence. I just wanted to see if you'd lie about it," he admits. The panic he felt only moments ago begins to rush through me. Blake will not be pleased with this. What should I do?

"Jayden, I know we still don't really know each other, but you must of been really scared if you called a stranger," he continues. Tears brim my eyes a bit.

"He never means it," I respond. I notice the way his eyes darken a bit as he looks away. I didn't want to tell him, but he deserves an explanation.

"How long has this been going on?" He asks me.

"Almost a year," I admit. Tears slide down my face silently at my confession.

"How have you put up with it for so long?" He replies as he lets his hand caress my cheek, wiping away my tears.

"I guess because I love him," I tell him. I know he's probably disgusted with me like everyone else was, but instead he just keeps staring at me, comforting me. It's a strange sensation after so long. Why isn't he freaking out?

"You must've had a lot of love to give. I'm sorry he didn't see that," Louis says. Pain shoots through me at that realization. Blake and I have been forced to no longer see each other pretty much and it's a strange realization. How am I supposed to handle this? I'm officially alone and I don't handle it well. I feel like my world is caving in and for the first time since the fight, I begin to freak out. I can't breathe and soon enough I'm hyperventilating which just hurts my ribs causing me to cry harder. I let out sobs, the whole time I'm screaming, "I wanna go home. I need him."

"Nurse. I need help!" I faintly hear Louis scream down the hallway. I understand why he wouldn't want to deal with me himself. I'm already starting to try and unhook all my IVs. I need to see Blake. He's all I have left and without him I'm alone in the world.

"Jayden sweetie, you need to calm down," a nurse says. I can't even tell who it is because I'm crying so hard.

"I can't. I need him! I need him!" I shout over and over again. The feeling I get in my stomach at the realization of my loss of worse than my aching ribs. Life will be to different without him. I can't breathe. I just need to know that he still loves me. Everything will be okay as long as I still have Blake, but part of me knows that I don't anymore and it's ripping me apart.

Tears consume me as I literately start gagging. I don't know how to handle this. It's too much. I'm freaking out so badly that I don't even feel the slight pinch in my arm signifying that I've received a shot. Almost immediately my body starts to calm down and relax. Exhaustion hits me and I start to close my eyes. The last thing I see is a look of pity on Louis' face.

~

Waking up, I temporarily forget everything. I think I'm back home in my bed, waiting for my mom to cook breakfast. My dad is away on business so it was just the two of us for the time being. My sister stayed the night at a friend's, but she'll be home around noon. I'm excited for Blake to come over and hang out again. I just want a cuddle day on the couch while we watch a film that he'd tease me about.

Reality is a bitch though.

Beeping pulls me out of my trance along with the wretched scent of death most hospitals carry. Upon opening my eyes, all I see is white until I notice a mop of brown in the corner. Confused, I wait for my vision to focus.

"Louis?" I question upon seeing the sleeping lump of a lad sleeping on the couch. My voice cracks causing me to flinch and remember my episode from last night. Why is he still here?

"Hmm?" He groans and I smile a bit. I don't ache as bad as I did yesterday and it's a relief.

"What are you doing here?" I question. Slowly, he stretches and I can't help, but admire him. His muscles are big, but not that big leaving me full of relief. Eventually, he looks at me after wiping the sleep out of his eyes and I'm not scared. I actually almost feel safe. What is happening?

"You called me so I could help you out. I can't exactly do that if I'm not here," he points out as he sits upright again.

"Why do you care though?" I ask. He seems to struggle with his next words by the way he purses his lips and doesn't answer for a few moments. Eventually though, he does answer me.

"Let's just say I used to know someone like you and they needed somebody too."
