Chapter 17: Cheesecake

These past few months, Louis has been amazing.

I thought being with Louis before was perfect, but the way he is now is so much more beyond that. Ever since he's found out about the baby, we've been on Cloud 9. Nothing ever goes wrong between us unless I get a little upset that he doesn't buy the right snack that baby wants. Other than that, everything is perfect.

"Hi," Louis says as he presses a kiss to my lips. He's returned from the toy aisle and is holding a teddy bear in his hands. I, on the other hand, have been looking at clothes. I get the 'awe' looks when people walk by. My stomach is protruding quite a bit as expected for a 7 and a half months pregnant woman.

"Hi," I respond, smiling at him though my attention is quickly redirected to the bear.

"You like?" He asks and he holds it in front of me. It's a light brown and has a plaid blue bow tie around his neck. The fur is long and soft, not like those stupid dotted stubble fur ones.

"It's perfect," I tell him.

"Good. Did you find any clothes?" Louis asks me as he grabs a hold of my hand. We continue walking down the aisle, but I'm quickly frustrated with the topic.

"Do you realize how hard it is to buy clothes for a child that you don't even know is a boy or a girl yet? You don't know whether they're small or big? You don't know if they're a crier and bubbly or quiet and reserved? It's hard," I snap, barely resisting the urge to swear, a nasty habit I picked up from Louis. The baby shouldn't be around that kind of talk. It's almost as if baby can hear how upset I am because my bladder is being kicked moments after, as well as my lower abdomen.

"You can't stress like this Jayden. We'll know the gender tomorrow," he tries to comfort me.

"Then why did we go shopping today?" I ask him.

"Because you were impatient and paranoid we wouldn't have anything ready though the baby isn't due for at least a month or two," Louis jokes and I fake laugh knowing that he's completely right.

"Fine. Go buy the dang bear while I pee then we can go eat. I'm starved," I tell him.

"Okay. I'll meet you at the car," he tells me and I nod, walking to the bathroom. When we found out I was pregnant, I made him take me to buy a car. I love his bike so much, but we can't exactly strap a baby in to one and I don't think it's smart for a pregnant woman to ride one, it's not as safe. I can't deny that I don't love our car though.

After peeing, I wash my hands and leave the bathroom. I hold my stomach and make my way to our light faded blue car. Louis is sitting inside already, warming it up I hope. It's a cold November. I climb in and buckle up, wrapping my coat as tight as I can around my body.

"You cold?" Louis jokes as I lightly slap his bicep. He laughs at me as has become normal. I like how light and easy our relationship is. Louis starts the car up officially and pulls out of the lot. We drive by a lot of places that sound amazing to eat, but to my surprise, he pulls up outside of Joanne's. I was almost hoping for something a little different.

"This is okay, right?" He says as we start walking inside.

"Of course," I smile.

"Sorry, I know you're probably sick of this place," he tells me a bit shyly.

"No it's okay. I love seeing Joanne and Dick. Plus, they're rally excited about the baby," I smile at him. What I just said is true and my mood instantly becomes better, making me a bit confused. I hate the mood swings that come with being pregnant.
