Oh. My. God. I think to myself. My mother just got shot, I think to myself. She's probably dead, I think to myself. Gone forever, I think to myself.

"Jayden..." Ellen says to me, "Are you all-"

"I'm fine" I say, tears welling up in my eyes.

"But" she says.

"I'll be alright" I say, a tear streaming down my face.

"Who was...?" Molly asks.

"My mum" I say.

"Oh my..." she doesn't finish her sentence. I feel the pain rising up inside of me, the burning feeling of revenge. They took something precious from me. One of the only things I still cared about in the world. And she's gone.

"Do you have any, you know, thing that can soothe the pain?" I ask Molly.

"That reminds me, I forgot to get the medical supplies. We'll have to do it quickly. And yes, we do" she said and ran down the hall and into a room on the right. I feel like i'm going to throw up. And I do. All over the floor. We follow her into the room and she gets a needle full of green liquid.

"Here" she says, "This will ease out the pain, but you might feel a little disoriented and you will have a slower reaction time".

"How much slower?" I ask.

"Like... say I threw a ball at you, by the time it'd hit you, you only would have just seen it in my hand".

"It's worth it" I say.

"Also" she says, "Here's a bucket".

"What for?" I ask.

"Well you'll be feeling disoriented, and Ed told me that you threw up outside".

"Fair point" I say. Molly passes the needle to me, and i push it into my neck, and slowly but surely, feel numb. Everybody is frozen for a bit. Obviously from the slower reaction time, and then Molly says:

"How are you feeling?"

"It's working" I tell her. She walks over to a bag on a table and picks it up, and everybody walks out of the room. Because i'm literally living in the past, they probably left about ten seconds before. The past Molly says to me:

"Keep your force field up at all times, otherwise you'll most likely get shot. Also, try to keep up with us.

"If that's even possible" I say, although I know that she won't even hear me because she's probably already down the stairs. It's so weird being pretty much back in time. Even if I say something, nobody will hear me unless they stop for me. As I go down the last flight of stairs I activate my force field manually, and go through the administration office. The office is now quiet, everybody probably left because they heard the gunshots and screaming. I see Ed up ahead and wait for him to talk.

"Well everybody is up even further ahead of us, you'll probably hear this once I have actually finished, but anyway. Molly said to follow me and you'll be fine". We went through a couple of hallways, and out a door. we were in some kind of courtyard with toparies and small bushes. Ed goes up a staircase to the right and takes a left. I follow. He stops and speaks to me again and tells me to be extra careful because the soldiers will be able to see and hear us from this part, because there are floor to ceiling windows.
He creeps by the windows quietly, but fast. I do the same, but fall over while trying to be a ninja. The soldiers outside must hear it, because they point their guns at us and Ed runs for it. Great, I think, he left me. He takes a left and the soldiers race after him. Oh. I think. He was just creating a diversion. I run through the hallway and take a right outside. I see Molly and everybody else (minus Ed) and race towards them. That's when their expressions go dark and I know something is wrong.

"Stay still" a man says as he puts the barrel of a gun to the back of my head.
