We wait for hours and fall asleep in our crashed car. It's a ten hour drive and when I wake up and check my phone, it's only been about eight hours since she said she was coming.
"So...when do you think she'll be getting here?" Ellen asks me.
"I actually have no idea" I say. "It's been about eight hours since we spoke on the phone, so she should be here in about two to three hours".
"What do you think we should do until then?" she asks again.
"Maybe we could see if the radio in the car works". I turn the radio on and for the first few seconds, nothing happens.
Just as I'm about to lose all hope and turn it off however, it begins to play a time that I don't know of.
"Thank god" Ellen says.
"Do you know any good stations?" I ask.
"Uhh, I think there's a good one on 106.5" she says.
I tune the radio to that station and a familiar song comes up.
"Hey do you remember this song?" I ask Ellen.
"Is it that song that....uhh....I actually don't know".
"It's the song that was playing at our disco, you know? When we won king and queen and had to dance with each other".
"Ohhhhhh, yeah I remember that now".
"You know..." I say. "We were actually pretty good dancers".
"Maybe would actually would have been good dancers if I hadn't been tripping you up so much" she said.
It had been thirty minutes since I had check the time on my phone.
"We still have and hour and thirty minutes" I say.
"Greeeaaattt" she says, giving me a fake smile, "Just greeeeat".
"Don't worry" I say, "Whenever you do something, time seems to go faster".
"Well then what do you propose we do?" she asks me.
"Maybe we should go and explore a bit?"
"Maybe" she replies.
At that. Moment a car come racing towards us and we get our guns at the ready. I take a closer look and see Ed, Brayden, Ally, Rachel and my mum.
"Hey!" I say. "Over here!"
They must see me, because the car races off the road in our direction, and stops a couple of metres in front of us.
"Hey!" I say to them.
"Hey" Ally says. "Your mum picked us up when we were about halfway there and said that she was going to get you, so we came along".
"Oh sweet as".
"Heeyyyyy" says my mum, putting her window down to talk to us.
"How you guys doing?" she asks.
"Not too bad actually" I say.
"How was you night out here?"
"Well it didn't suck, but it wasn't good" I reply.
"Okay" she says, "Get in, were heading for Sydney, although we'll have to stop a couple of kilometres out so that we can hide you guys. Otherwise, we're toast".
"Okay" I say as I hop into the car and put my seat belt on. Ellen does the same, and we begin to go on the extremely long and painful drive to Sydney.
