~Chapter 11~

Mayu had fallen silent making Sesshomaru glance over at her, she was leaned back on a tree asleep, cup carefully laying on her lap, only a drop of the drink left in it. Sesshomaru let out a gentle breath before setting his empty cup down, reaching over grabbing hers, and stacking them. He then used his Mokomoko-san to carefully tuck under her just right to carry her due to his lack of second arm. He picked up the cups, sake, and stood, his Mokomoko-san rising up with him as it carefully cradled Mayu. He walked over, returning the cups and sake, before he walked to where Rin was sleeping so he could let Mayu rest. As he walked, Inuyasha and the others beside Kagome who had gone to bed watched him.

"The hell?" Inuyasha whispered.

"I'm starting to think you're right Sango." Miroku muttered.

"Yeah." Inuyasha whispered. Sesshomaru walked inside by Rin before he carefully placed Mayu down. He watched the two girls for a moment, then he sat beside them moving his Mokomoko-san to rest back on, he leaned back and closed his eyes. Sure, he was a daiyōkai which needs little to no rest, but even he felt exhausted. So, when the chance of getting sleep finally came, he'd be damned if he didn't take it. He glanced over at the girls beside him once more before he closed his eyes once more and drifted off.

Mayu's eyes fluttered open, she was inside. She slowly sat up, rubbed her eyes, stretched, then looked around. She saw Rin still asleep, then she saw Sesshomaru. She stared for a moment, then smiled. His breath was shallow and slow, he was completely relaxed, his lips parted ever so slightly. She looked down at the blanket that was covering her, then at Sesshomaru once more. She carefully got up picking the blanket up as well before she walked over, then, she carefully covered him being extra careful as to no wake him. Once she got him covered, she walked over and carefully shook Rin awake. She slowly stretched, letting out a tiny yawn, then looked up.

"Morning." She whispered tiredly. Mayu gave a warm smile.

"Good morning." She whispered. Rin sat up, then looked over.

"Sesshomaru-sama is... sleeping?" She asked in a soft, surprised tone.

"Yes. Now, come, let's not wake him." Mayu said making Rin smile and nod. They got up, Mayu quickly fixing the futons before they both walked outside to smell delicious food. Rin's eyes sparkled as they walked upon what looked to be an open hot pot feast. She quickly ran over and hugged Inuyasha.

"Morning!~" She chirped making him raise his arm so he could see her better.

"Hey, squirt." He said before ruffling her hair making her giggle. Mayu walked over so Kagome scooted over so she could join them while Rin sat next to Inuyasha and Shippō.

"Morning Mayu.~" Kagome greeted sweetly as she was handed a bowl of Miso soup and some chopsticks. Mayu said a quick thank you before smiling at Kagome.

"Morning." With that, they sat in silence while they ate. This went on for a bit until the pot was empty and everyone had their fill, then everyone started socializing. Rin, Aka, his brother Aoi, his sister Midori, Shippō, Himari, and Yua were running around and playing while Mayu, Kagome, Sango, Miroku, and Inuyasha watched them. There were footsteps behind Mayu, but she thought nothing of them until she heard a voice behind her as well.
