The Servant of the Demon Lord

~Chapter 31~

The morning was calm. Everyone ate, then separated to get ready for the festival. Eri, that morning, snatched Mayu away from Sesshomaru and took her to help her get ready.

"Now, for that surprise.~" Eri said before walking off into the many outfits in the room. When she came back, Mayu's jaw dropped. It was an ice-blue kimono with white flowers on pale green stems with pale green leaves, some of the petals falling off, pattern on it. But what really wowed her was the tuft of fur attached to the chest area going down the back mimicking Sesshomaru's Mokomoko-san.

"W-Wow." Mayu whispered.

"I've been working on it to keep my mind off of things. I have a feeling Sesshomaru will adore it. Oh, and though the hairpin is pink, the white flower design will help it match still. I've seen him staring at it, so I think he likes that it's being put to good use finally." Mayu's eyes sparkled.

"Now, in the bath you go." Mayu nodded and got in. Eri still bathed her though Mayu said she could do it herself. Then, of course, she did her hair once again. However, this time, it was simple. It was a loose braid that rested on Mayu's shoulder, the hairpin was placed at the top of the braid. Then, Eri helped Mayu get dressed and fixed it to be perfect.

"Look at you." Eri whispered before carefully turning her to face the mirror. Mayu's eyes widened and shimmered, she's never looked so... perfect.

"You're perfect for him, you know that?" Mayu looked at Eri.

"What?" She whispered.

"I've never seen him, well, like this before. He's always been quiet, reserved, stubborn. Now though, he knows when to ask for help, when to take time for himself. He really needed a mate like you." Eri said with a smile. Mayu smiled and turned a little red.

"If I'm honest, I hated men getting close to me. But, I feel so comfortable- safe around him." Mayu admitted.

"Something tells me Haha Tsuki wanted this to happen. Now, let us show the others?" Eri asked. Mayu nodded, and with that, they walked to the main hall. Everyone else was there in their fancy outfits, other than Kagome who wore a slightly fancy yet still "lazy" outfit. Rin glanced over, then gasped making the others look as well.

"You look like a princess Mayu!" She said in awe making Mayu turn red.

"Th-Thank you." Eri looked up at Sesshomaru who stared, and even for someone who tries to remain emotionless, he looked surprised. His lips were parted a little as his eyes scanned her, then rested at the tuft of fur. Eri wore a proud smile before walking Mayu over to him.

"I believe we're all ready?" Eri asked.

"Yeah, let's go!" Rin, Himari, Yua, and Shippō cheered earning laughs and giggles.

"I don't see why not?" Mayu asked looking up at Sesshomaru. He took a moment then nodded.

"The town will be waiting." He muttered. And so, they left. Sesshomaru, before they got walking, held his arm out to Mayu who smiled and wrapped her own around it, the other couples had already beat them to it while Eri offered to hold Akira for Sango and Miroku, mainly because she adored babies. When they got to town, they all were greeted with kindness and respect, then there was a loud playful yip gaining their attention. Mayu smiled brightly letting Sesshomaru's arm go running over and hugging who made said yip.

"Amaya!~" Mayu chirped cheerfully. Ayumi then ran over to meet the other kids and say hello to Rin while Yuki laughed at the sight. 

"Oh, I missed you." Amaya said before pulling back and cupping Mayu's face.
