Mayu stretched, then tensed feeling the bed under her move. Her eyes fluttered open to be met with Sesshomaru facing her, eyes closed, asleep. Her face warmed a little before she carefully sat up feeling something roll off her chest. It was the blanket, it covered them both. She smiled gently as she looked out, it had rained, thankfully they didn't get wet. It was beautiful, the sun had just risen a small bit highlighting only parts of the garden. Mayu carefully got off the swing, then she ever so gently tucked Sesshomaru in making sure that the cold morning wouldn't wake him. She then carefully made the swing move in a soothing manner before walking back inside. When she walked inside, she saw Sesshomaru's mother, Chikara, Eri, and Amaya speaking. Though, Amaya was off to the side merely watching rather than speaking. Mayu walked over beside Amaya.

"Thank you for taking Rin last night." She thanked making Amaya look over. Amaya smiled brightly.

"Of course. Though, I'm surprised that you were able to just walk up and drag Sesshomaru-sama away. I thought he'd snap at you for sure." Amaya said impressed. Mayu sighed.

"Wouldn't make the first time I stopped an argument between him and Chikara. I'm sure Chikara hates me at this point." Amaya rolled her eyes.

"Father's been a grumpy pup for the past two hundred years. I think it's because our last lord died, they were good friends. You'd think he'd help his friend's son instead of being an ass to him though." Mayu nodded.

"Well, men are awfully prideful." Amaya snickered.

"Tell me about it, that's why I have a wife instead of a husband!" Amaya said with a laugh gaining her mother's attention who glance over.

"I don't blame you." Mayu said with a gentle giggle.

"Oh, there's something I actually need to discuss with you since Sesshomaru-sama is still resting. Can you meet me in his workspace while I wake Rin?" Mayu asked.

"U-Uh, no one's in there unless he says." She muttered in an unsure tone.

"I have full permission to be in there, plus, we won't touch anything." Amaya thought for a moment, then nodded.

"Awesome, I'll be there in a bit." Mayu said with a smile before walking off to Rin's room. Once she got there, she opened the door to see Rin fast asleep. She smiled and walked inside closing the door behind her. She walked to the window opening it up to let fresh air come inside along with the sunlight. Rin stirred a little before yawning and stretching.

"Morning, love." Mayu spoke sweetly as she turned and knelt down beside Rin who sat up with a smile.

"Morning." She said before yawning again.

"Is Sesshomaru-sama feeling better?" Rin asked with a tired, curious look.

"Yes, he is still asleep so let us leave him to rest." Rin nodded.

"So, what now?" She asked.

"We're meeting Amaya to discuss some important matters, come." Rin nodded and stood with Mayu taking her hand as they walked out. Once they got to his workspace, you could see that what little remained of the door was removed and surprisingly replaced already, so, Mayu opened the door and walked in with Rin who let her hand go running over to hug Amaya.

"Well good morning to you too kid." Amaya said with a laugh. Then, she looked up at Mayu.

"What is it he wanted to discuss with me?" Amaya asked.

"He wishes for you to come with me, Rin, A-Un, and Jaken to the village. I need to discuss some matters with Kagome and Inuyasha, but Sesshomaru-sama cannot accompany us this time." Mayu explained.

"Hmm, very well then, I'll accompany you." Amaya said with a smile.

"Awesome! I'll gather Jaken and A-Un and talk to Eri about supplies and we'll be o-" The door opened making everyone look over. A very tired looking Sesshomaru stepped in before freezing in the doorway seeing Mayu, Amaya, and Rin.

"Morning Sesshomaru-sama!~" Rin chirped running over and wrapping her arms around his waist. He looked down and placed a gentle hand on Rin's head.

"Sleep well?" Mayu asked making him look up at her.

"You should have wakened me." He said as he closed the door behind him.

"Never mind that, Amaya is already caught up unless there is something you'd like to add or change regarding what we spoke about last night. I'll gather A-Un and Jaken and ask Eri to pack supplies for the trip and stay." Mayu said with a smile making Sesshomaru stare at her for a moment.

"Very well then. I will see you off when you depart." Mayu nodded, then bowed.

"I'll see to it then. Rin, do you want to stay with Sesshomaru-sama?" Mayu asked sweetly.

"Uhn!" Rin nodded.

"I'll see you in a bit then." With that, Mayu walked out. Sesshomaru watched as she closed the door on her way out with a blank look.

"U-Umm, Sesshomaru-sama?" Amaya asked making him look over.

"I'm a little confused, mother said she was Rin's caretaker, but she acts as though she's your assistant?" She said in a confused tone. Sesshomaru thought for a moment, then closed his eyes with a soft breath.

"I suppose she stepped up herself." He spoke calmly.

"Ooh, so she took it upon herself to give you a hand like you've been needing?" Amaya asked in a playful tone raising a brown and crossing her arms. Sesshomaru let out a small huff before he walked to his desk making Rin let him go and walk beside him. He grabbed the papers and tidied them up.

"If I can ask, what is this trip for?" Amaya asked in a serious tone once more.

"We need resources, though we've stood on our own for countless years, we cannot do so no more. Mayu will discuss matters with my brother and his wife and we'll go on from there, for they know those across the land better than even I." Sesshomaru explained as she set the paperwork down gently.

"Hmm, I see. Well, don't worry, I have Rin and Mayu protected. Can't make any promises about Jaken though." Amaya said before playfully stating the last part making Sesshomaru roll his eyes.

"Very well."
