~Chapter 23~

"Mayu, Mayu!" Rin chirped hugging Mayu snapping her out of a daze.

"Yes?"

"Amaya said I could go to her home and play with their pup! Wanna come with?" She asked.

"Yeah, c'mon. You seem to be in a bit of a glummy mood. Some time away from the palace won't hurt none." Amaya said with a smile.

"I don't see why not then.~" Mayu said with a smile.

"Yay!~" Mayu was relieved, she needed some time away. If only she could talk to someone about what happened, but she didn't dare. Anyone in the castle is in earshot of Sesshomaru, and anyone outside would spread rumors or see him poorly for doing such a thing. She had to keep it to herself, she hated it. So, they went. Amaya's home was rather large, after all, she was a general.

"Ayumi!~" Rin called running over.

"Rin!" The two hugged with a laugh and bright smiles.

"Love." Yuki greeted Amaya with a warm smile. Amaya snuck a quick kiss before smiling.

"You two haven't properly met yet, have you? Yuki, this is Mayu, Mayu, Yuki." Mayu smiled and bowed.

"Pleasure meeting you." Yuki smiled and bowed as well.

"Pleasure is all mine." She said.

"Come on, let's go play!" Ayumi chirped.

"Yeah!" Amaya laughed.

"Let's go pups!" They soon ran off. Mayu smiled softly, then her smile faltered.

"If I may ask." Yuki started making Mayu glance over.

"Something seems to be on your mind." She said with a concerned look.

"I-" Mayu stopped not knowing how to word it.

"By any chance was it something to do with our lord?" Mayu perked up. How did she guess so fast?

"Amaya said he acted off last night. She knows him better than anyone, they grew up together after all." Mayu sighed.

"He said we wouldn't speak of it." She whispered. Yuki thought for a moment, then smiled taking Mayu's hand bringing her to the porch, ushering her to sit as she poured them both a cup of tea.

"Hey, whatever is said here stays here. Amaya rants about work all the time, I've learned to keep a secret." Mayu sighed but smiled. She had no reason to not trust Yuki, she was Amaya's wife after all.

"W-Well, Eri told me that Sesshomaru would like a lavender-scented bath, a good way to end his day off I provided for him. So, I did, but he requested that I... joined him." Yuki perked up greatly.

"Wow, that's not like him at all. He must really trust you." She complimented.

"Well, it was fine at first, but one thing lead to another, he pulled me close, then... kissed... me." Mayu muttered softly making Yuki stare for a moment.

"Kiss you?" Mayu nodded. Yuki was silent for a moment, then crossed a leg over the other deep in thought worrying Mayu.

"He pushed you away and bolted, didn't he?" Mayu perked up.

"Yes." How is she so good at guessing these things?

"I see, I know the issue now." Yuki said before resting her hands on her lap.

"He's scared, not regretful." Mayu tilted her head.

"His father fell for a human, and look where it got us." Mayu thought for a moment, then slowly perked up greatly.
