Rey's P.O.V.

Ben has been unconscious for two days. He had to have surgery to repair his ruptured kidney, which they ended up taking out. He should be awake right now but he's not. His scans of his brain looked okay other than a concussion, but he's still not waking up.

I haven't left him alone since he was attacked. I had them set up everything he could need in my room with his bed next to mine. Po brings me food and sits with me and talks to me. It crossed my mind that he was stalling me the night they attacked Ben but he told me he had no idea.

Finn tried to come by but Po was here when he did and he yelled at him. Apparently Po ask him before the battle on Exogol to be general with him, Po demoted him. I apologized to him for everything I said and he did the same.

"Hey I was thinking maybe you should speak to everyone. I mean the entire Resistance because what they did was wrong and they need to be held accountable." Po says to me from the door. I'm sitting on my bed, starring at Ben waiting for his eyes to open.

"I'm not leaving him alone again. I made that mistake once and I made a mistake trusting the people here. For the most part anyway."

"I could stay with him."

I look at Po skeptically. I want to trust him but I don't know if I can. Not when Ben is completely defenseless.

"You can trust me Rey, and if I had known they were going to do that to him I would have been here to stop it. I wouldn't lie to you. Please Rey you have to believe me."

"I believed in Finn, and look where that got Ben. I want to trust you Po. Ben saved my life and I want to repay the favor but he's not waking up. What if he doesn't wake up because I didn't get here soon enough? What if I was supposed to protect him and I didn't?"

"Rey the only way you're going to get through this is if you hold them accountable. As hard as it is for me to accept that he's here I do. Because I can understand him coming back from a dark place. I was a spice runner at one point so I guess I'm more open minded. You need to reach every single one of them on a personal level to understand where the two of you are coming from."

I was quiet for a few moments. He's right but I don't know if I can stay calm talking to any of them.

"How am I supposed to face a group of people who beat up a basically helpless person. He could have killed them all. He could have lost control and proved to them all that he is what they think. But he didn't. Because he's not Kylo Ren anymore."

"You have to hold them accountable. This base was built with a few cells for bringing back first order fighters or anyone to interrogate them but they can be used in this situation too."

"Okay I'll do it. You have to get them all together in a room though. Say it's important and if you don't show up you'll get in trouble or something."

"Okay Rey. I'll get them together and come get you and stay with him till you're done, is that good?"

I nod my head and get up to give him a hug. This is the kind of friend I needed Finn to be. I can't believe he would do something like he did.

"Do you trust me?" Po asks me.

"Yes. Please come get me if he wakes up and if he does tell him I'll be right there."

"Alright I'll go get everyone together, and then I'll come get you when they are."

Po left and I sat down next to Ben and looked at him, so peaceful.

"I don't know if you can hear me, or if you're going to wake up, but I need you to know I would have done anything to protect you Ben. I've got something I need to go take care of, but Po is going to come sit with you while I'm gone so you won't have to be worried something else could happen. I'm so sorry they did that. They're supposed to be fighting for the good and be good people. But in times of war where does the good go, ya know? I'll be back as soon as I can Ben." I kissed his forehead and waited for Po to come get me.

I don't know what I'll say or how I'll confront Ben's attackers. And I definitely don't know how I'm going to face Finn after what he's done.
