How it Should Be

Losing Someone

Rey's P.O.V.

Po gathered everyone in the hanger for a meeting. He said even Finn was there when he came to get me. Ben is still unconscious, I left him with Po, the only person I feel like I can trust right now except BB-8 and D-O.

Chewie went to his home planet yesterday but promised to visit and we could get in contact with him if we need anything. He said goodbye to Ben before he left, taking the falcon, 3P-O, and R-2 with him. They've served the Rebellion for many years everyone agreed to let them retire with Chewie.

I walked through the empty hallways, which confirmed what Po said, everyone is waiting. The hanger fell silent as people started to notice me walking in instead of Po. I could sense their fear.

I heard someone get up, "Sit down!" I yelled.

It was Finn, trying to get out of what he did.

"Everyone is going to sit here, and everyone will listen to what I'm going to say. I'm sure what happened was spread around to everyone, trying to recruit as many people as possible to jump someone. To everyone who was in my room beating up Ben, defenseless on the floor, crying out for help, I saw everyone of your faces. And you're all here. So here's what is and isn't going to happen. That, will not happen. To anyone ever again. It doesn't matter who they are, we are supposed to be the good in the galaxy and we are no bette than what we just defeated if this is what we're turning into. Someone could have warned me or said something or stopped it. But none of you did. Your general is disgusted with you, and was one of the most vocal about Leia's son being here, in a negative way. But he isn't here in front of you because he is sitting with Ben until I get back because I can't leave him alone around you monsters. I thought better of you. Po thought better of you, and Leia, expected more from all of you. And you have failed her."

I rounded up everyone who hurt Ben and took them to the cells in the basement. There were nine of them split in three cells.

Finn sat in the second cell, watching me lock them all in, "Rey come on this is a bit much, don't you think?"

I ignored his comment. I ignored him. He isn't a person I can trust anymore so why ever bother arguing with him. I put the keys in my pocket and went upstairs worn out saying a word to any of them. People starred at me as I walked past them, almost as if they're scared of me. I would rather have that then have them assault Ben again.

Finn hasn't been my friend an awful long but we've grown close. He's saved my life and I've saved his. I don't want to believe he could be so shallow and cold but here we are.

I don't know if he'll ever except Ben here or not, but Ben and I have to leave at some point to start the new generation of Jedi. It's our responsibility. And we can't let Luke and Leia down.

I got back to my room and I stopped in the door way, I was met with Ben's face trying to leave the room.

"Ben! Oh my god you're finally awake. Thank god, how are you feeling? Can I get you anything?"

"I need to go, Rey we need to leave now."

"Ben what's wrong? You need to rest you had surgery." I directed him back to his bed.

"Rey I have a feeling. I can't explain it. But we need to go."

I helped him onto the bed and put pillows behind him to prop him up.

"Po when did he wake up?" I ask.

"Right before you got back. He's been saying he and you need to leave since he did."

Ben was murmuring to himself over and over, "we need to go, we need to go, we need to go."

But at least he's awake. Now we just need to figure out what is wrong.
