(Crisis on Infinite Earths 2)

Vosh stirred awake. "Conner?" He called, pushing himself to a sitting position. "Where are we?"

Conner pushed his chair closer to Vosh. "I'm here, you're okay. We're on a time ship called the Waverider, you're in the infirmary."

They locked eyes. Conner took Vosh's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. " I was so worried about you. Ray said you would wake up in a few minutes but it's been an hour."

"Wait I was in Lian Yu for an hour? I-I didn't think I was gone that long. Time passes so strangely when I shift between reality and, well, wherever I go." He said. Vosh shut his eyes and rubbed his temples.

"What's Lian Yu?" Conner asked.

"An island. What happened while I was gone? Did we save the planet?" He asked.

Conner's shoulders went slack. He shook his head. "We couldn't save the planet but we managed to save three billion people. Thanks to Oliver's sacrifice."

"Sacrifice, what sacrifice?"

"He died trying to defend the portal. The Monitor teleported us to safety but Oliver kept fighting."

Vosh sighed. He shut his eyes and tried not to let his emotions run wild. He didn't know Oliver Queen for long, but he fought by his side. Oliver was a good man and a damn good hero.

"Why does everyone around me die?" He asked. Vosh looked down at his and Conner's hands.

"This wasn't your fault. You..."

"I know it wasn't my fault, Con, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. I was created to preserve life, but all I've done is become a beacon of death."

"You aren't a beacon of death. You saved so many people in the time we've been together. From the first night we escaped Cadmus to a few hours ago. You singlehandedly powered the quantum tower. If it weren't for you, none of those people would've made it out alive."

Conner removed his hand from Vosh's. He reached up and tilted the boy's chin so that they were seeing eye to eye. "You're extraordinary. The good you've done easily outweighs the bad." Said Conner as he looked into those purple eyes.

"Thank you for that. I really needed to hear it. It's just been one thing after the next lately. I missed talking to you."

"I missed our talks, too. When I found out Cadmus got you again, I realized how stupid I was to ice you out. You mean so much to me and the thought of losing you to my own stubbornness I... I gained a new perspective."

"The world, all worlds, is literally ending right in front of us and none of it matters if you and I aren't together. I don't want to waste the time we have left with regrets."

Conner stroked his cheek with a gentle thumb. Vosh nuzzled into his warm touch. It was a moment both boys knew to cherish.

"Before my true father died, he told me you're my destiny," Vosh said as he traced the S on Conner's chest. "I think he saved you from the antimatter wave that hit the rest of the Titans."

"What does that mean for us?" Conner asked.

Vosh looked into Conner's eyes and smiled. "Well for starters, it means you gained parental approval on a cosmic level. It also means something more, something greater. Something you and I have to figure out together."
