Painfully Clear Soon EnoughVosh and Conner walked side by side, hand in hand, through the streets of Covington, Ohio. Snow fell like feathers from the sky. Melting before they could so much as touch Vosh's skin.
Vosh looked into the sky. The pastel pink from above swirled in his purple eyes. Added a sparkle to them that Conner could barely stand.
Conner gulped hard. He was stuck between swooping Vosh into his arms and kissing him until the snow stopped, and asking him why they were here. The latter was more practical.
However, Conner knew something was wrong. Something so bad that even as Vosh stared into the beautiful sky, he was far away. If he asked, if Conner asked what was going on, it would ruin the moment. The only moment of relative peace they'd had since the first night he looked into those purple eyes.
It was selfish, he knew it, but he deserved to be selfish for once. He deserved to bask in his boyfriend's dazzling eyes.
Conner pulled Vosh to a stop. He tugged Vosh's body against his. Chest to chest. Those purple eyes tore away from the clouds and molded into Conner's.
Vosh parted his lips to ask why they'd stopped so suddenly. It was pointless, though.
Conner cupped Vosh's cheeks and dipped his head. He joined their lips in a tender kiss. One softer than the snowflakes landing on his head. So soft that he felt Vosh pull him closer, deeper, just to feel more of him.
Vosh moaned against Conner's lips. A rainbow current fizzled between their lips. The electric kiss sent streaks of light into Conner's body. A warmth flooded him, nurturing his body with a supercharge.
Conner broke the kiss. He kept his eyes shut and rested their foreheads together. Their shaky breaths mixed, creating a harmony.
Vosh leaned back just to look into Conner's face. "What was that for?" He asked, voice wobbling.
"I needed to kiss you. To enjoy the moment before our next crisis." Said Conner. He opened his eyes slowly.
A pang of sadness sunk in his chest. Weighing on his heart so. He rested his hand on Conner's chest. Just to feel his heart beating.
"Con, I... I saw the future. It wasn't pretty," Vosh said. That was all he could muster in that moment. He turned away from Conner.
"Whatever it is, we'll handle it together. We always do, we're a team." Said Conner. He was so sure of it.
So sure that Vosh wanted to believe him. He would've believed Conner, too. If he hadn't saw what would happen. He would've believed that.
"There are some things that fall out of our control. I saw what happened, what I'm going to do... it's inevitable." He said.
"But you're a God, Vosh. You have the power to restart the multiverse, to change or create whatever you want. I've seen it, we all have." Conner persisted.
"That's the problem, Con! I have all this power, too much of it. I have the power to destroy everything in my path, and I will. I've seen it. I..."
Conner grabbed him by the shoulders. "Babe, you know the future is subject to change. Whose to say the fact that you know what's going to happen hasn't changed what you saw? The future is what we make it."
Vosh sighed and shrugged Conner away. "The future is written in blood, Conner, my blood. The only chance we have of stopping me, is to gather the few people in this multiverse that he left out of his plans."
